This article is about Joe Biden possibly running for president in 2020. Joe Biden was Obama's vice president for 8 years. Biden is 74 right now, which would make him the oldest president if he runs in 2020, after Ronald Reagan. If a former president could be a vice president in a later term, would Obama be Biden's vice president? I think it would be interesting to see Obama as Biden's running mate. I think that Biden would have a good chance in the 2020 election if he runs since he is very known already with Obama.

    1. It's definitely possible, but I'm afraid that a lot of people are going to think he's too old to run. Just look at the people who thought Bernie Sanders was too old run, Biden will be 3 years older than Bernie when he runs. Regardless, I think if it happens, it would be a good thing, although he would have a lot of work on his hands to undo Trump's policies

    2. I agree with Jimmy. Joe Biden would make an excellent president and I think that he does have a big chance in winning, but unfortunately no one really knows exactly what Trump plans to do with in the presidency. If he did happen to become president, he would have a lot of work in his hands. And yes it would be really interesting to see Obama be Biden's vice president.

  2. http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/07/politics/ohio-abortion-bill/index.html

Yesterday Ohio passed a law that you can not get an abortion if after a baby's heartbeat has been detected, which is usually about 6 weeks into a pregnancy. The next bill, which prohibit these abortions even in cases of rape or incest is left to John Kasich. He has 10 days to vote for this, and if he doesn't sign it, it will become a law anyway early next year. I don't think he will pass this because John Kasich, even though he is a Republican, he has some liberal views and him and other Republicans have said they do not support abortions unless it's rape, incest, or other cases.

    1. Its so hard for me to wrap my brain around the fact that the government is controlling what we can and con not do with our bodies. This is just as awful as telling two people of the same sex they can not get married and look at the progress we have made in legalizing gay marriage. Everyone is entitled to their views on abortion, whether you are totally on board or not at all it is not your right to get to tell someone what they are able to do with their body. The reason America is such a good place in so many peoples eyes is because of our freedoms but they are slowly being taken away and restrictions on abortions are just the first of many examples of how.

    2. I agree with Bianca. I feel like even if you do not support abortion, you shouldn't be able to tell someone what they can do with their body. If you took all of the safety precautions available to avoid having a baby and you still wound up pregnant and you know it isn't going to be a good thing if you keep the baby, getting an abortion is your choice. People say adoption is an option, but they don't realize that to have a baby is a lot of pain and hormones you don't have to deal with. Also it costs about $3,500 plus to have a baby in a hospital while an abortion is up to about $1,000. I completely believe that you do what you want with your body and people should stop judging and mind their own business. America just judges and the people and the government think they should have a say in what we do with ourselves and they shouldn't. The government should be more involved in helping these things.

    3. Yeah I feel like everybody has their own opinions about abortion but now the government is now interfering in what we do with our bodies and how we live our lives? That's not right at all. Their not the ones who are gonna raise the child and take care of it we are. Their for it should be OUR decision. I think this will go to the supreme court especially with the no exceptions because, a lot of people are against it and I would support going against it.

This article is about the president's right to grant pardons to inmates. Obama started off his presidency giving pardons to only a handful of prisoners, but recently, he has been giving out more due to a new system of review. The article mentions how Obama is likely going to be the first president since Lyndon Johnson to leave presidency with a lower federal prison population than when he started. The article also mentions how he's running out of time to grant these pardons, because lovely Trump, surprisingly, opposes these prison reforms. The article suggests that Obama could do blanket commutations of the inmates who pose the least threat.

  4. http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/08/politics/michigan-election-recount/index.html

Only three days ago, Michigan was officially having a recount for the election. A federal judge has ordered Michigan's Board of Elections to stop the recount. Jill Stein says that it is "disheartening that a judge gave in to Donald Trump". The article did not mention why it was halted, but I would think that the judge's reason is that he did not see a reason for a recount to be conducted. Many people say that all of the voting results are fair and accurate, while others claim that some states might have inaccurate results. The judge must have believed that all votes are accurate. The Michigan recount is also said to be very risky and could lose millions of dollars and the voices of many people.

This article by Mr. Christopher Suprun is questioning that if God forbid something like 9/11 were to happen again would President-Elect Donald J. Trump be able to lead the country through it like George W. Bush did, he united the nation. When the attack at OSU happened Trump didn’t send his sympathies for 2 days. Suprun does not believe that Trump is a good fit for office he has just put it into an Article, he seems to be speaking everyone's minds.

This article by Mr. Adam B. Ellick, Miss Mona El-Naggar, and Taige Johnson is about how people are protesting the election of Donald J. Trump. #Notmypresident trended for a while but personally i just think that people need to get over it, it happened and there is nothing any of us can do about it. This is a combination of people who have had to change their lives when certain people were elected president in their respected countries.

    1. I believe that if there are people who are still upset about Trump being elected, then they should be able to protest if they want. It's easy for white people to say because they're not the ones who feel scared, or threatened, and they're not the ones being attacked for their race, religion, and ethnicity. Protesting is one of the only ways we can receive reformation and see change in our country, so if they want to protest something they believe in, then nobody has the right to tell them otherwise.

Today America lost a great icon. John Glenn, the first man to orbit the earth died at age 95. This tragedy has the nation grieving but more so coming together to remember his life. Celebrities have come together on social media and are posting positive tweets and statuses. The Obama family said that they lost a dear friend and America lost a great icon. While this is sad for many people and Johns family we must remember that he lived a great life and we must continue on his legacy by breaking boundaries.

    1. John Glenn was the first American to orbit the earth. This nation is for once coming together, and instead of the everyday hatred and separation, this man is bringing everyone together in remembrance. He has lived a great life. He received his Medal of Freedom in 2012 by president Obama. It probably makes people think how short life is, and how foolish it is to spend it on hating each other. People probably remember him all over the news the day he orbited the space, and now this man is dead.

I can understand why the Hopi tribe would want to protect the Grand Canyon, and I agree that we should, but I can't seem to understand how Obama could possibly do so with one month left in office. The 20th amendment shows that he really can't do anything, lame-duck policy, for the next month and honestly the Grand Canyon shouldn't be at the top of his list. I would give the advice to send a letter to the president-elect Donald Trump, but we all know how that would go.

  9. Reply to Kathryn about Trump handling things like 9/11

I think the Electoral College should vote for Donald Trump just because if they change it then there really is no point for the Electoral college in the first place. I also think people need to give him a chance, he isn't even in office yet, he hasn't had anything yet to deal with so nobody knows. And he tweeted the day the OSU attack happened, but now looking through his twitter I don't see it, but if you look at the news from that day, he did. I just think everyone needs to chill and give him a chance. Maybe, the Electoral College won't vote for Trump and he won't even be President right? But right now this is how it is and everyone has to deal with it.

  10. http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/09/politics/ohio-abortion-bills/index.html

This article was about a bill regarding abortion in Ohio. This is the second bill in Ohio that could restrict abortion. This bill does not completely restrict abortion, but after 20 weeks, you cannot have an abortion. This bill is pretty much just sitting on John Kasich's desk waiting to be signed. Kasich is a Republican so typically they are against abortion in the first place. This proposal puts abortion in the center of Republicans and Democrats. Republicans are against it, Democrats are for it, and what they are doing is making it legal before 20 weeks, allowing the women to decide if she wants it or not, after the 20 weeks after the baby is starting to develop, it will become illegal.

This article is about Trump and how he constantly attacks and offends people. I really don't understand how people could support someone who is just rude and cruel. The way he talks about women and mocks disabled people is truly disgusting. Many say that that's why they supported him, because he isn't afraid to say what he believes, he just speaks his mind out but I think that is completely ignorant. As the next president of the U.S, and one of the most powerful men in the world he should really watch what he has to say. All he does is terrify people and make them not trust him.

Nobody knows what Trump is gonna do about immigration. But states and cities our building defenses to protect families and workers from the next administration. They are afraid Trump will go on a mass deportation. But, they understand that not all immigrants are criminals, and not all should be deported. Plus, the country can't come out of it's failure to reform unjust immigration laws. They know people around trump want him to do what he has promised to do. And if he does millions of immigrants will be deported.

  13. http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/08/opinions/broadwell-petraeus-double-standard-drexler/index.html

This article was written by Peggy Drexler and is about the double standard on sex and power. Back in 2012, writer, Paula Broadwell had an affair with married CIA director David Petraeus, and while she's still suffering the consequences of their mistake, he's currently running for secretary of state. Broadwell contains two masters degrees, and has held positions at Harvard University, but nobody will hire her because of this specific scandal. She also has 21 years of military service, but this one mistake that her, and Petraeus made, has completely affected and changed her life forever. On the other hand, a man, who is just as guilty, was able to keep the current job he had at the time, and is now a legit candidate for secretary of state. The double standard and amount of inequality among the sexes revealed in this situation is completely absurd. Both Broadwell, and Petraeus were (and still are) married at the time of the incident, yet SHE is the one that is recognized as a homewrecker, even though he's just as much of one as she is. This just proves that there are definitely double standards, and they are alive and well. The women in these kind of situations are always the ones looked down upon, yet the men duck all responsibility. It takes two to tango.

    1. I really do agree with what you are saying. I think its really dumb and doesnt make sense how the women took all the blame like it was all her fault. The men was equally responsible for what had happened yet he didn't get any type of punishment. This is so unfair and wrong it seriously needs to be put to an end. If someone made a mistake they need to take full responsibility for his/her actions.

This article written by Susan Lehman is talking about the "good, bad, and mad" news about President-elect Donald J Trump. She says the bad news is that Trump is getting cozy and comfortable with Russia. Also he is comforting the worst dictators in the world. She then goes on to talk about the "mad" news which is how Trump is places the riches white men in his cabinet but in threw in a few african americans and women to make it seem diverse. Finally she says the "good" news is nothing, there is no good news. She said if anyone has anyone good news about this matter to please let her know because she can't find anything good about all of this.
