These letters are about Trump trying to change the rules in the automotive industry, and air pollution. The writers think that Trump will change rules in automotive therefore increasing air pollution and speed up global warming. They hope that the new administration will take time to really think things through before making any major decisions.

    1. Its interesting because Trump passed a law that states for every new law that is made, 2 has to go. As we learned in government class, there is a lot of red tape all over companies and different agencies. This is why a lot of the companies manufacture in China, its less of a headache. We should invest more in creating more electric cars and figure out how we could start building factories that produce less chemicals and air pollution.

In this article by Anna Sauebrey she talks about how Trump has two faces. The president and the anti-European populist. This worries Germany because of the transAtlantic relationship that the US of A currently has with Germany, so depending on which face Trump puts out there Germany could lose their relationship with the United States. So, it is reasonable that Germany is worried about this.

In this article Gail Collins is talking about how Trump has three faces. Trump wants to lower the prices of drugs and he seems to be taking the steps to do so which is good news. But, if he will completely follow through, we will have to wait and see. Collins said that the three faces are, one, the chatty and useless but somewhat pleasant Trump; two, the unscripted Trump that is close to completely insane; and three, the somewhat normal president Trump. All three of these faces are calling for lower drug prices.

In this article Bernie Sanders is talking about how Trump has promised to make better deals than the presidents of the past to save money. Sanders says that Trump is trying to make a bad deal about the Zika virus and if he goes through with it that the people giving the vaccines will be able to charge whatever crazy price the wish which could cause some serious money loses. But, because of who this article is written by we have to take everything with a grain of salt because of Sanders clear bias towards Trump.

    1. In my opinion, vaccinations should be cheap for everyone considering that it is to prevent large diseases from spreading throughout the U.S. it is crazy to think that people can charge whatever price they want for a shot of medicine that is much needed for their life, and in relation to the Zika virus, it is much needed for their children. I agree that it is well known that Sanders has a huge bias when it comes to Trump, and we have to recognize that when we read his point of views on issues concerning Trump.

This article discusses two federal judges who temporarily blocked Trump's travel ban. Trump told his fans that the order he blocked was a "watered down" version of the first one. He pledged to take the issue to the Supreme Court if necessary. The new ban would have kept people from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen from entering the U.S for a total of 90 days, and refugees for 120 days. The new ban removed Iraq from the list of banned countries. Apparently since the order was banned, the new plan is to just make another ban order.

  6. http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/15/politics/obamacare-repeal-whip-list/index.html

This article is about Republicans who are leaning towards or totally against Trump’s new healthcare act. The bill needs 216 votes to pass, and 11 House Republicans have already said they are for sure voting no. Eight more have said they are leaning towards no. That is 19 lawmakers that are against the bill. The chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, Mark Meadows says that this is enough for the bill not to pass. So many people, including Republicans, oppose it because it means around 24 million Americans would be uninsured under this new bill which is more than what it was under Obamacare. I think Obamacare was bad, but not this bad. Healthcare is so hard to reform and I don’t think any of the close minded Republicans realize that. Also, Trump needs a wake up call. So many people in his own party have opposed many of his ideas so he needs a different mindset about things.

    1. There needs to be a way to protect the healthcare of everyone depending on Obamacare before they get rid of it. People do not want to get rid of Obamacare if they don't have a backup plan in the making that will actually help them. It is crazy how many people are already saying they are not going to pass the act. Because of how many of Trump's fans disagree with some of his ideas, I think he should listen to them instead of going on with his own ideas that nobody likes. Gaining the public's trust is the first thing he should do before proposing risky laws.

This article is about programs that are getting cut from the government's budget and arts is one of them. Julie Andrews is the one defending the arts, and she makes points to show the arts are an outlet for students and they make them better. Students in the arts have higher gpa's and standardized test scores. She says that kids in the arts are more likely to be class officers and have good attendance. She also makes a good point about inner city kids who try to get away from their dangerous communities and the arts are where they go most. I think it's awful that arts are being considered for being cut from funds. I have watched the whole Glee series and it would be an awful thing. I'm not in the arts but I do agree it is a great outlet for kids and it does make them better.

The European Court has passed a law allowing employers to ban Muslim women and others who wear signs of their faith. Two women from France and Belgium experienced this and were the two cases that lead to the law being passed. They were both fired after refusing to remove their hijabs. In the French case, they ruled that you could not fire someone because of their religion. The Belgian employee however was allowed to be fired because of the company's own rules. I don't understand how being a Muslim affects work but apparently in these bigots minds it does. This kind of just proves that America isn't so bad because we don't have a law that approves of this. Something I don't understand though, is why European countries are so for refugees coming to them, but then they want laws like this? I hope somehow this can be changed because even though I'm not affected, I find it really awful for the people who are.

    1. What is the "European court" where exactly does this include? All of the countries in the EU? i think this is obviously clearly wrong and immoral and there will be repercussions for passing such a disrespectful law. Religious freedom is a right reserved for all people and you shouldn't be fired from your job for being strong in your faith.

    2. I completely agree with Kyana. Religion shouldn't be a law or something that anyone should have to follow. It's one's decision to choose in what they want to believe in. It's a right! No matter what country it is. No one has the right to force anyone to believe in what they feel is the "right religion."

This article is about a Senator from Oklahoma named Ralph Shortey. He was caught with a teenager in a motel room, and is now facing child prostitution charges. Currently, Shortey is removed from membership and leadership of various Senate committees, he cannot occupy his office or parking spot at the capitol, he is blocked of his expense allowances and authorship of bills, and he cannot have an executive assistant. Surprisingly, Shortey will still receive a $38,400 salary as a senator and will be able to vote. I find this extremely wrong that he is still allowed to vote. He shouldn't even be getting paid. He obviously does not deserve to be a Senator since he is engaged in serious illegal actions. It is disgusting and he should have immediately been fired from his job.

The author talks about his health care plan, and how it's no better than the current affordable care act. He also notes that the republican party isn't particularly liking the way trump is going about his presidency thus far.

This article is about the irony of trump "whining" about leaks. It brings up all the reasons why the author believes this is ironic. His tweets are the #1 reason. The attacking of the hamilton cast to getting sued by people at Trump University for fraud are both reminders that trump can't wine without looking like a hypocrite. I think that Donald trump has been attacking people for a long time and the one time something serious is brought against him he wants to cry and act like the victim and that's not okay. He is the president and he needs to act like one.

In this article it's saying how some of Trump's promises simply can't be. As he said he is spending a lot on military and border security but since he's doing that he has to spend less on education and infrastructure like he said was very important. This document full of bluster and cuts which he knows Congress will not accept. The budget is clear except for some exceptions. It's in tear down mode. He'll be cutting State department by 29% and cutting Department of Health and Human by 16%. Also smaller agencies will be eliminated like finances legal aids groups. But the biggest budget raise towards Defense, Homeland security, & Veterans affairs while slashing the other 14 major catergories but hardest hit would be to Environmental Protection cutting it by 31%.

In Frida Ghitis's article she talks about how Trumps mouth is causing embarrassment. Before he was president he said false things and got away with it but now he is in charge of a country and he just says what he wants and it is embarrassing that he doesn't know what he is talking about. The US looks uneducated and it is Trumps fault. He doesn't have a background in politics nor does he really know what he is doing so it is hard for him to accurately address the public but he tries to anyways causing embarrassment.

    2. I don't think that Trump is right from his mind. Many people support him because he "isn't afraid of speaking his mind." Or because he doesn't "sugar coat" anything. But I think that that's disgusting. There's a difference in speaking your mind out and then there's insulting. He thinks that that it's completely okay for him to do such things but like Kailah said, he's completely uneducated.

However, he's still carrying on the same way as when he was campaigning. Even in class we mentioned that presidents have to get less radical once they take office, but Trump isn't showing any signs of doing so.

This article suggests that Trump is a lot like Andrew Jackson. They have things such as an obsession with the media, science denial, and in a way being people person, in common. This article is not just to find out that Jackson and Trump have similarities as presidents, but the fact that Trump could maybe be a people person. I thought it was very interesting that someone would go back to Andrew Jackson just to find one tiny positive way of thinking about Trump and all they could come up with was that Trump could possibly learn to be polite. I am honestly tired of hearing about Trump, I am over it.

They say that some sensors that were there didn't go off. Its very surprising that in 2017, technology is so high up, and the White House's sensors didn't go off. The closed borders thing yeah no the borders are gonna stay open unless we get in a large scale conflict. Which by looking at the signs may not be far away. He needs to begin to understand stop treating the people with disrespect and start preparing for the worst. Obama, Bush Jr., nor Trump has done that thought about what could happen. And the lines of events that are lining up like a chain reaction are falling perfectly in place. As in making him a better president his ego is too big for that. He is a multi-billionaire I think he is gonna blow up his twitter feed and then go back to his corner. Not a single president has thought ahead and the stuff they thought ahead about wasn't even relevant. It's sad, it really is. What used to be the greatest country in the world brought to it's knees by a mixture of things. Government, media, the people, we need to unite not divide and Trump definitely isn't the one to do it. People seem to forget that two democrats are proven taxation frauds and nothing is done. To be frank I don't care what Trumps tax returns show, but guess what they show he pays federal taxes unlike the two democrats who had no uprising against them. It seems that this generation seems to be attacking the first amendment, because if someones feelings are hurt I can't say the truth. Releasing someones tax returns is a felony, because that's putting your nose somewhere it don't belong. The liberal media has no bounds to anything saying anything is racist and reporting fake news. I feel ashamed that I have got to graduate next year and figure out how to live in a world where my business isn't my business, and this is just the beginning. It will get worse, because we are being raised to believe everything the news tells us. But when a reporter commits a felony she needs to go to jail because releasing something that isn't yours to release is wrong. I don't care how stupid Trump is, sticking your nose into someones but to tell the world whats going on is very wrong, but sadly nothing will be done about it. I don't side with any party on this one I'm just kinda scared that our privacy is going out the window with the media evolving. And that's all I have to say about That..

He references that Trump is following a trend dating back to Newt Gingrich's overthrow of the democrats. He says that true fiscal conservatism is prizing small businesses and keeping low taxes, but be willing to raise taxes if necessary. I'm not sure how he's going to do that considering he wants to build a multi million dollar wall and expand the military. This article, written by Timothy Jost is about how the he Congressional Budget Office has issued its judgment on the Republicans' American Health Care Act and the picture it's not looking too good. The article talks about how the GOPs new health plan is going to make health insurance less accessible and more expensive for the elderly and poor, and make it more accessible for the young and wealthy. Statistics show that the uninsured will increase by 4 million in 2017 and 24 million in 2026. The plan of the GOP is to send off the old and draw in the young to the markets. This new plan really irks me because the elderly and poor deserve health insurance just as much as those who are young and wealthy. It's not that surprising though considering republicans are more known to care more intensely about those who are wealthy over poor people.
