Trump is overly sensitive. He has moved on from attacking freedom of religion to the freedom of the press. His policies also show no sign that he is aware that we have a Bill of Rights. They were created to prevent lunatics like Trump from taking away our civil liberties. The things hes suggesting are outrageous and would never get through Congress.

    1. I definitely agree with you about him being a lunatic. The things that come out of his mouth are completely outrageous, and I think that was shown tonight at the debate. He wants nothing but attention and it's hard to think that some people actually take this man seriously.

    2. Yes, I have no idea why he would even attempt something like that. Perhaps be believes that his followers will overlook this, which sadly, they may. His followers seem more like a cult than anything else with the things he tries to pull. Though, like you said, he's not going to get past Congress. He may be able to step over his followers but I don't think he will be able to charm his way past them.

    4. I have to agree with you, Brittney and Chris. but, as much as we dislike him we may be stuck with him. The way he has gotten all the followers is by saying everything they want to hear. This campaign is just practice for him. Hes using it to figure our what all we like, what we will support and what we will do to help him in what hes wanting to do. And honestly. if hes able to get this many followers, then he may be able to do a little more than what we seem reasonable. We knows hes able to speak his way into things, so imagine the paper he will be able to orchestrate and get congress to pass. His paper might have too many loopholes for them to be able not to. So, as much as we hate it, we might be trapped with him between a rock and a hard place.

The boys have not been convicted, so I can not assume their guilt. I believe crimes committed by minors, especially ones like rape, murder, etc, should not be given any leniency, especially since the justice system has failed rape victims over and over. Furthermore, It’s not like they were caught with weed or stealing candy from the store. It’s the same deal with the girls who killed their friend. They shouldn’t be given a pass because of their age.

I agree with you on the second post. I feel that sometimes in our judiciary, we give people too many breaks. For example, I feel that if a person killed another person in a drunk driving crash. They should be tried for murder, not tried like the normal drunk driver that just gets a DUI. I also feel that age has a lot of influence on criminals time in jail. I feel that no matter what the person did they should be tried like they were an adult. So if a seventh grader shoots up his school, he should be tried just like if a forty year old did the same thing. No obviously don't send them to the same jail, but make sure they get a fair trial and not be biased because of the persons age.

This article explains that Ben Carson doesn't see a political path in the future after Tuesday's primaries across the country. I feel that Carson has a point, however, I would rather have him than Trump. Carson is the person to take things seriously and be successful as the president. Trump is an entertainer that would I feel like, use this as a business opportunity, to further more enlarge his riches.

    1. Interesting point Curtiss, from this it seems to be the end for Carson. Well, it seems that that time has come, in fact, Carson just announced today on the 4th of March that he would be ending his campaign, it was an interesting ride seeing the rise of Carson, before the race really began, he seemed to dhow promise, keeping up with the political monstrosity of trump and even managing to briefly surpass him. Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever, and Carson's momentum declined fast, not really contending where it mattered most.

    2. I think especially this year that there is such a strange variety of potential candidates to choose from. Many people don't like either of the leading candidates, and their aren't really many choices better. I definitely think that this election will come down to choosing the lesser of two evils.

Last week marked the 4 year anniversary of the Trayvon Martin shooting. We has America have talked about justice for all, yet there was no justice done for this man. It truly sickens me, almost makes me angry when I think that a 16 year old boy carrying ice tea and skittles was brutally shot and say that was justified. Absolutely sickens me that justice will never be done for African American society. And i'm just being honest and I mean what I say when I say that if it was the other way around, justice would have been done without a doubt. Uncle Sam really has it's wrongs. I can never let it go and will not let it go because this case will always go down as how showing how cruel, unfair and unjustified the law can be. It's a very strong and personal topic to me because it really it home and struck a lot of people, but most importantly his family. But just like Rodney Kings beating was justified and caught on video, this case was no different and showed no justice for the African American community.

This article is discussing how Donald Trump is not fit to become the President of the United States. It states that many people have said it--for example, politicians, economists, and business leaders--but none of the GOP primary voters seem to be listening to them. I completely agree with this article, I fear for the future of this country if Trump becomes the President. I don't ever see him taking it seriously. He is also one of those people that speak before thinking, he often says the first thing that comes to his mind, which in politics or even in general is not a great idea at all.

Although I don't like Mitt Romney I agree with the statement he made in his speech that Donald Trump doesn't have the temperament to become president and many people think he could help our economy because he's known for his "successful" business when in reality he inherited that business and its of no effort of his own in fact many of the business ventures he's attempted on his own have failed and went bankrupt. The people voting in the primaries are the extremists who want to reverse back to white Americans desperately.

This article is about five teenage boys who were accused of rape and then immediately convicted. As evidence came out, they were eventually found innocent and got their charges dismissed. I think that no one should be convicted until there is strong evidence proving that they are truly guilty of their accused crimes. It is unfair to these people who get their reputations damaged from public court records for crimes that were later proven innocent. Currently, prosecutors don't have to show all of the evidence until a trial, which is typically a year or longer after conviction. I think that trials should have to happen within a few days of accusation, and nothing should be made public until after a trial has been conducted.

I think that Trump will do anything in his power to stay in the election even if he knows he has no shot of winning. Trump clearly doesn't care what the American citizens think of him. I think that even if he doesn't get the Republican party nomination, he will return to the race as an independent party member. What's strange to me is how well Trump is doing in the primaries, yet everyone seems to be against him becoming president. How does that work?

The american economy has added 242,000 jobs in February which is 50% more than the past months which is great. Employment is at 4.9% which is the lowest since 2008. Economist are very optimistic with the new jobs being created and the look up for the american economy. The fear of falling into another recession was looming in the not so distant future for 2016. The wage has grown only 2.2% though which isn't a lot but it is still a look up for the future economy.

It also isnt just with the african americans but with all races hate crimes happen everyday. I believe that a teenager that may be in the inner city or in bad area will always be seen as bad and be discriminated against and be feared which is horrible because no one knows them so how would they just shoot them for looking suspicious. This problem needs to be solved.

I agree with this article, in terms of space exploration/colonization is something we need to look more into. We so far got a space station (ISS) which is an incredible piece(s) of technology that really shows how much we can do if we just collaborate with each other. Plus the amount of rovers. If only we can keep doing this with other projects; have entire countries working together on something. That would bring immense amount of technology to everyone. This could go into lives of anyone or even used for possible space exploration. Other than just creating better war machines and countless bickering between countries. I wonder what we could accomplish if the whole world was "united" or at least not at ends with each other. That would be amazing time to be in.

Trump who is leading the ROP is more worried about his hands then the country. Am so disappointed by the voters that are voting for a man who is really crying about his hands.

“ They were then joined by the G.O.P. campaign money machinery, which this week began frantically tossing more millions at — what? An anti-Trump ad campaign? A third-party effort?” the anti trump campaign keeps increasing yet all the efforts and millions that dollars that are being spent against Trump are actually helping him gain more supporters. It's kind of ironic how it all works out but it is what is it. So many people are against trump like mitt Romney who recently called out Trump for being a phony and using many scapegoats. Personally I feel like Trump shouldn't be in the race because I don't think that's what's best for America but time will show what happens.

“Thousands of adolescents are forever linked to allegations and crimes that result in dismissals or no conviction, and those records — and characterizations of those records by the media — follow them into every aspect of their daily lives.” this is honestly so sad because so many false arrest are being made . Honestly I don't think that this is new but now they are coming out to light. The title of his article including the world black, creates an image of the recent trend of black lives matter due to inclination of arrest and abuse of black citizens. Obviously there has been many cases of this and sobering needs to happen to allow for proper treatment and prosecution of all people being accused because everyone is guilty until proven innocent . I also think it's unfair that people who are wrongly convicted have there names scorned by something that didn't happen .

    1. I think this is a huge issue, and it’s definitely gotten worse since the internet and social media were created because news can be spread more quickly. The media will call someone guilty as soon as they’re considered a suspect. If someone thinks you did something, even if it’s proven that you didn’t do it, your name can be ruined forever. This is absolutely horrible and unfair, but unfortunately I don’t know if there’s a way to stop it. If the media stopped exaggerating everything and making everyone look bad I think this would be helped, but I don’t think there’s a way to make the media stop doing this.

This article is about Mitt Romney criticizing Donald Trump and telling people he's a phony. The author is saying that Donal Trump exploits the darkest parts of the Republican Party such as the racism and xenophobia. The author also made the point that all of the republicans running in this election are extremists so although Donald Trump has extreme fantasies for America Ted Cruz has extreme policy ideas. I agree with the author because people like Donald Trumo because he voices the opinions they're too afraid to admit they have. I also think that Mitt Romney is a hypocrite for saying he wouldn't have accepted Donald Trump's endorsement if he knew these were his beliefs because he supported the same xenophobia.

    1. I personally do not think that Trump should be even running as a republican in the first place. Not only is he a huge extremist, but he said early on in the election process that if he was not made the republican candidate, he would run as an independent which proves he does not really care about other republicans and their values.

  18. http://www.cnn.com/2016/03/03/politics/hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-primaries/index.html
This article is discussing the Democratic side of the primaries, a side which may at times be overshadowed by a certain Republican candidate. Hillary Clinton, who has won 10 of the 15 primaries so far, is confident that she will be the Democratic nominee (with Trump as the Republican). The thing is, Bernie Sanders is not looking to drop out anytime soon. Sanders, who is most popular among Latinos, like a lot of candidates, need to "do better with African-American voters between now and the end of the process." I definitely feel that there is a lot that could happened between now and the end of the process. Clinton may have a bit of a start, but Sanders is definitely keeping his head just above water. Perhaps if Bernie Sanders can win over some of the African American voters in rural areas he will have better chance in the weeks to come.

This article by Colbert King states his negative opinions on Donald Trump. He gives examples of what Trump does, such as verbally attacking certain people, and uses it to do the same to Trump. Hypocrisy aside, King mentions how authoritarians support Trump indefinitely. This reminded me of a video I had seen recently about a person going around, asking Trump supporters if they support these quotes that are allegedly by Donald Trump. The twist is that they are by Hitler, which is supposed to change the views of the Trump supporters. However, these quotes would be influential quotes despite them being said by Hitler. They did not promote his anti-Semitism, but promoted the success he had during his dictatorship. Simply by trying to show Trump as some awful dictator equal to the tyranny of Hitler, makes the credibility of anti-Trump supporters go down. I believe this is why most people that support Trump continue to do so, even shown in the video. Because, while there are many, many, MANY things that are negative about Trump, those trying to disparage him do so wrongly.

  20. https://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2016/03/04/theres-nothing-wrong-with-grade-inflation/

This article discusses grade inflation in colleges and is written by a former professor at several prestigious universities, such as Stanford and Yale. While he used to fight against grade inflation, now he thinks that we need to end the centrality of the current grading system. He argues that homework is not a good motivator, and penalizing a student for not doing something so minimal is wrong. He also points out test-taking skills. Some students may completely grasp the concept of AP Calculus with ease but may suffer from test anxiety or other success prohibitors that overshadow their talent. I agree with him. I think that the way that we learn now is completely stressful and harsh for the time period of life that we are in. We are at the most awkward and hormonal stage of life right now, and being stressed out by school should be the least of our worries. However, I do think a little bit of stress is good. There is a fine line between not being stressed and being lazy. We can't allow laziness, but we also need to make sure that we pass on information in a healthy way that can work for everyone.

    1. I agree with Brandon here about the education system now being too harsh, but pressure is good as long as it is good pressure. This has been a reoccurring topic this past week due to us talking about Transcendentalism in English; education now a days are only focused on standardized tests and not the actual learning experience which is effecting the students.

    2. I agree with you Brandon about the grading system. It can really cause kids a lot of stress just about taking a test or doing homework. It should really say something when a kid is having a mental breakdown before a test. But I agree that stress can be good since it can help a person grow. However, I don't think that kids should be stressing that much over school especially if they're only in high school.

This article is about how well Trump has been doing in the primaries and different plans for how to prevent him from getting the republican nomination. Some people say that Rubio and Kasich should drop out and support Cruz. I think this is a good idea because when the votes are split between too many people it can ruin the results. If you add up all the votes between Rubio, Kasich, and Cruz it will be much more likely to beat Trump than any of them are on their own. I’m not sure who should run against Trump, but different candidates should definitely pull together to beat Trump.

He stated the many people are tired of tolerance and would rather have someone who "tells it like it is." Personally though, I do not think we need a president who is this rude about it. There are certainly people who are voting for him or else he wouldn't be leading. We have also slowly enforced political correctness. So, therefore, it is also our fault that Trump wanted to entirely debunk that practice. This doesn't make him right, but that does make it our fault.

This little bit of news came as a shock to me, and doesn't really seem to be getting as much attention as one might think. That bit of news would be Democratic Representative Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii Endorsing Bernie Sanders for president. Now, that doesn't seem like a big deal at first, unless you know that Rep. Gabbard was formerly the Vice Chair of the DNC. Also, when one is a member of the DNC, they are to remain impartial, and cannot endorse a specific candidate for obvious reasons. This Endorseent really speaks to the gravitas that many fell that Sanders' campaign has. In a race of high stakes, a young Representative from Hawaii believes so strongly in Sanders' message, that she can no longer afford to remain impartial as a result of her position, deciding to give it up so she can endorse who she feels is most qualified for the job, despite what this may mean for the party as a whole.

This article is about the affects that John Kasich staying in the race may have had on Marco Rubio's campaign. Kasich and Rubio both pull mainly from the same base of moderate Republicans, and Kasich dropping out of the race would have proved as a boost for Rubio, especially in the Northeast, but the amount of impact it would have had is a what if. Rubio wouldn't have realistically gotten all of the Kasich support, and based on the numbers run by the article he would have probably gotten around a third of it, but it still could have gotten him many more delegates to at least put him in front of Cruz and within a Florida of Trump. Now Rubio's shot at the outright nomination win is all but gone, but he still needs the pull of Kasich to possibly win all of Ohio's 66 delegates to stop Trump from winning the nomination outright and at least having a contested convention.

This article is about the author's opinion that the most recent GOP debate was a farce and none of the candidates on stage were worthy of the Presidency. I tend to agree with the author. I've held my views that Trump is the least worthy of all the candidates for a litany of reasons I could list for hours. I don't think Rubio has enough experience in politics, and his absences in Senate voting do not leave a good mark. It seems like he is more interested in getting the Presidency and in rising in rank than he is in actually doing his job and helping the American people (similar things with inexperience can be said about Obama though.) Cruz is much, much too conservative and religious for my taste, and I don't think he has a shot at a general election. Kasich seems like the most respectable one up there, and has probably since Rand Paul dropped out, but I think when on stage during the shouting matches that were happening, anyone can look respectable if they choose to take the high ground and not participate, even if it keeps them down in exposure and the polls. Kasich seems to be with Rubio in being the most moderate, but even then his work as Governor has shown some dark spots that aren't very moderate. Unions, charter schools, and Planned Parenthood funding are marks on his record that I don't think would go over very well with independent and moderate Democrat voters he would need to swing to get the general election.

I understand where the Sandy Hook victims' parents are coming from. They are very grief-stricken and angry. And yes, it is a little excessive to have a 30-round clip for an AR-15. However, one of the best statements I've ever heard in life, and it rings true in everything, is that guns don't kill people, people kill people. There are many things in this world that are dangerous enough to kill. We have knives in our own kitchens, we drive cars everyday, but the knives and cars don't just magically hurt someone by themselves. There is always a person in control. It even says in the article that the Sandy Hook parents said "The AR-15 is the weapon of choice for shooters looking to inflict maximum casualties." Exactly. SHOOTERS are looking to inflict maximum casualties. Perhaps they should look into raising awareness for early detection of homicidal actions. If someone really has the desire to kill, they can do it with or without a gun.

This article, written by Dave Goodsmith, notes how one third of the money contributed by Republicans to the GOP has gone to candidates who have dropped out. While Donald Trump may be one of the most unpopularly candidates nationally, he is still managing to rake in money. I think that his main way of doing this is name recognition, which we are helping him do. Every one person could name Trump s one of the nominees, but only a select few could name all of Republican nominees. This split also exemplifies the split in the Republican Party. With millions of Republicans unwilling to vote for Trump if he is the nominee, the Republican Party's vote could be split and result in certain failure.
