Donald Trump wants to build a wall on The border of Mexico and America to keep immigrants out. Also Trump wants to deport all unregistered immigrants out of the USA. This is in my opinion abusing his powers in fact I don't think he even has the power to do such a thing. The Mexican Government says they wont pay a single cent for such wall, which is very much expected. Trump is also very high up in the polls which just shows how racist a lot of Americans are but Trump isn't lying he is just to the point and doesn't care how people react to radical ideas.
AJ why you stealing my topics smh. But i do agree with you Mexico will have nothing to do with that wall and definitely wont agree with us putting it up even if we do it ourselves. In all seriousness if Donald Trump wins I will be scared for our country.
I still can't believe how many people are actually voting for Trump. But, I agree with you that Mexico should not have to pay for Trump to build a wall separating the two countries. Honestly, there really isn't a way to completely eliminate illegal immigrants. For one, there isn't a way to ensure that all of the current illegal immigrants are removed. I think if Trump were to somehow win president, Congress wouldn't allow him to build his wall.
Don't get me wrong, I am NOT a Trump fan, nor do I agree with his immigration policies at all. But him wanting to keep immigrants out from our southern borders is not racist. That is where our largest amount of illegal immigrants are coming from every year. While some contribute in a positive way to the community, some don't. Building a wall there would keep both types of people out. If people really want to come to the United States, they should have to become a citizen. I think we need to recreate the process for gained citizenship, but that's another topic. Trump and most of his supporters on the policy are not racist, they are just looking out for the best thing to do for the United States, not the millions of illegal immigrants that are coming to our country. Trump definitely is a racist, but I don't think that this policy is necessarily racist.
The main thing I have a problem with is the deportation of immigrants. Doing this would split up families and create a huge mess in our country. I agree with you in regards to this exceeding his power.
I agree with Curtiss. Even if Trump does become president, that doesn't mean that he will get what he want. That's the beauty of our government. If one person decides to do something like this he can be overridden and is most likely not able to successfully complete his intention. Like Taylor said, Congress won't allow him to build this wall.
This article is in anticipation of the New Hampshire caucus that will happen today. It says what Sanders, Trump, Clinton, and Kasich say about why the need voter support. It says that Sanders, will not call for the release of Clinton's bank records. Trump claims that, he will not stand for anymore war crime, and that it need to stop firstly at ISIS. I personally believe that this is Trump's pull on the people because people want to see an end to ISIS groups and Trump is the most aggressive candidate referring to the war against terror. I feel that Kasich needs a good turn out tonight or he is going to step out of the race. although I feel his record with the national budget is outstanding I think he hasn't been visible in the race compared to Rubio and Sanders. I feel that after today there will be more people we can cross of of our board and it will show the nation who are the candidates that are truly deserving of the Oval Office.
Reply to AJ: I think that Trump doesn't have the power to do that all. Any president does not have the power to do that. I feel that Trump, through the span of the race he has dug himself into a huge hole that he can not get out of. Hopefully Trump will realize after tonight that the presidency is not the right role for him in our society. However, Trump is liked because he is not afraid to answer any question which is unusual, I feel that he still is not the right candidate.
This article is about the effects of marijuana on memory and how it damages the brain. From this article I learned that people who have smoked regularly during their teens, remember fewer words as they enter their middle ages. That's really serious in my opinion, especially to those who are pushing for it to get legalized. Every year that goes by and you smoke regularly , the verbal memory gets lower. What is so crazy is that people don't care and tend not to pay attention to this information when they need to.
Yea, I agree with how crazy it is that people seem to just completely ignore the bad effects of marijuana. It's like if they believe hard enough it is not so, then it will be true. Which of course is not the case at all. For any drug in the world, there will be some side effects, some not as horrible. But it is sad, and deeply concerning that people ignore things like this.
Damarco, you're completely right. I have a lot of friends who smoke marijuana regularly, and the most common argument that they make is that "weed doesn't hurt you." People say that there have been no deaths from marijuana and that they're better for you than cigarettes.. but they forget that weed has never been legal in the United States and has been harder to obtain, therefore making the amount of deaths and effects from tobacco problems infinitely as much as marijuana.
This article is about the gun issue. The writer of the article says how at first she was anti-gun but after a day at a gun range taking a class talking to the people who run the program, her views have changed saying its for our own safety. First of all the people she talks to are NRA members and defend their gun rights with a passion, which as usual involves a crackpot theory of the government trying to take the peoples guns to establish a try an establish a tyrannical grip on our nations people. To me all of their arguments for guns involve paranoia involving the government or being robbed. They also call President Obama the number one gun salesmen seeing as how his anti-gun views has caused a surge in gun ownership. As for the government taking over the country, Obama's term is almost over and i don't see him taking over the country. And for your personal safety, there are things to use rather than guns, which include: security systems, dogs, double locks, mace, taser, or even walking in groups in public. I'm sure there are plenty of other ways to defend yourself rather than taking lethal action.
I agree with you Gage. There is always someone who says the president is trying to take their guns away so they can turn the government into a tyranny. They need to face the facts that there are more shootings these days and that there needs to be restrictions on guns. I get that people want to feel safe and want to have to the right to bear arms but we should worry about everyone's safety. There are other ways to protect yourself and I doubt that the government would ever completely get rid of guns.
http://www.cnn.com/2016/02/10/middleeast/turkey-erdogan-criticizes-us/index.html This aticle is about the turkish leader saying that we are responsible for whats happening to there country which is mind blowing weve tried to help people with these problems many times and when we leave the people we drove out come right back and nothing happens because they dont want to follow are rules. There is no place like america there could be if they did what we do but they dont so they have these problems there is no one to blaim but themselves.
Reply to Curtiss: I also believe that Kasich has a very good background which just isn't hyped up like Trump or Bernie. Kasich is the most reliable candidate in my opinion in this race because he is known to stay true to what he says. Trump and Bernie are just at the top of the pools because of media such as Trump being bitter all the time and Bernie with the younger people with free college.
I disagree that Bernie Sanders is getting attention as a result of the media. In my opinion he's gained support despite the media because they always seem to focus on Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Bernie's support stems from his ability to touch all demographics such as African Americans, Latinos, women, etc. He also has a very stable platform that he's been behind since he walked in support of the Civil Rights movement in the 60's. Hillary has a very shakey political platform and Donald Trump got his support from the media.
I think a lot of the attention Bernie is getting is from college kids. He's not very popular with a lot of adults, and between #feelthebern , and all the stuff on Twitter, Instagram, and all the other social medias, is the only thing keeping him in the race. The youth is important but isn't important enough to get someone like Bernie to win the election
I had the opportunity to hear Marshawn speak to my class about Ferguson and the Black Lives Matter movement. He did not belittle us and welcomed opposition to his views. His reaction to someone disagreeing with him was not outrage, but to try to understand where the other person was coming from. His poise and respect for others was admirable to me, and I looked up to him a lot. I wish people would realize that this is how most protestors. They are not violent people who start riots and hate white people. They are looking for constructive conversation.
I would definitely look up to someone like that as well! He seems super respectful and someone that I would actually enjoy talking to or maybe even going to for problems. He would be helpful.
That is quite the interesting story that you have to tell there Amal. It really shows a side to protesters that most don't think really exists, and that is a calm, cool, and collective side. Although many protesters are very outspoken people especially activists, most protesters are just regular people that see injustice in this world, and wish to rise up and do something about it. That sounds like the kind of person Marshawn was, a typical citizen trying to right the wrongs cast upon people of color in this nation.
I have mixed feelings about this article. No one should be forced to give up their privacy regarding their health records. One the other hand, if giving up health records could potentially save lives, it might be worth it. I think that as a happy medium, there is two possible options. One is for relevant health records to be submitted to scientists, doctors, etc. but remove any information that could potentially link the person to the information. Another possible option could be for it to be an option whether or not the person is willing to submit their health records to be studied. It would be a violation of privacy require everyone to do so, but it could definitely be an option.
I agree that it would be an invasion of privacy, but if we could use their data to help cure another person I believe it would very helpful in modern science. I do agree though that it should be the person's original choice to offer the information and if the doctors do not ask or do not follow that person's choice, then there should be repercussions.
This article talks about Hilary Clinton's campaign and the New Hampshire primaries. She lost by a margin of 20%. It also discusses how she had a decent chance to become the first female president after Obama. It says that she lost the young female supporters to Bernie Sanders. These were the female supporters that backed her up when she was competing against Obama when they were running. I feel like it would be pretty cool to have a female president, something new, but it all comes down to what she stands for.
This article tells about Donald Trump and on how he became a frontrunner in this years presidential election. In it it states that Trump is getting voters from a very strong minority group in America, which makes sense, you can see every where that he is being made fun of for anything he does now in days. But he is still going strong in votes. Which is profound to me, though, the article also says that he abandons all political correctness in favor of delivering more "emotional" messages. By that I mean he words his speeches and general talk about outrages plans or how things should be, which works sadly enough. It riles people up, and in that state of mind, makes them less likely to see logic. Now that in itself kind of sounds outrages, however it does explain how Trump just gets away with anything he does and even gains voters. He even acknowledges the ferocity/loyalty of his voters saying "I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose voters.".
I think that the Oregon hold out went a little too far. Everyone is entitled to assemble and protest accordinging to the 1st Amendment but it also states that it must be a peaceful protest and the article states one life had already been lost. And that is not peaceful and those people should be put on trial cause the minute that man died there 1st amendment ended.
In reply to Aj: I have to agree with Taylor when I say this but Mexico shouldn't pay for their own blockade wall. And also we really won't get rid of ALL immigrants either. Immigrants will always be around and no we won't ever be able to deport all of them. So trump needs to start promising things that are 1. Legal to do and 2. Actually realistic to do as well.
http://www.cnn.com/2016/02/08/opinions/clinton-campaign-sanders-sexism-cupp/index.html This article is about how we shouldnt believe that feminists are voting for Hillary just because they are female. the article claims tht she is furious and desperate because she is losing supporters to Bernie Sanders.Honestly, it doesnt surrise me that she is losing them to him. After her stunt that she pulled with Benghazi, she isnt seen as the most trustworthy. Sanders is also offering more for them, or at least making more empty promises that they like to hear and have hope for.
This article is about the overwhelming majority of support that Hillary Clinton has over Bernie Sanders when it comes to superdelegates for the Democratic nomination. Currently, she holds a 362-8 lead on Sanders, which barring a complete turn of events and Sanders sweeping every state by a significant margin, could win the election for Clinton regardless of the outcome of elected delegates and popular vote. In this situation though, some superdelegates would most likely switch their allegiance to Sanders, as that much of an overwhelming support for the significantly more favorable candidate would just alienate the Democratic voters. It is still an overwhelming advantage Clinton has over Sanders as the party elites seem to want Clinton get the nomination much more than Sanders. He's in a much deeper hole than Obama was in 2008, but it's not impossible to see him win like it may seem now.
http://www.cnn.com/2016/02/08/politics/felipe-calderon-mexico-donald-trump/index.html This article is about Trump wanting to build a wall between America and Mexico. I think that the idea of building a wall is fascist and that Donald Trump is fascist. Building a wall sounds like something they did in communist Russia, and were suppose to resent that. It just seems so un-American to now allow people to immigrate here.
I completely agree. This is America, we’re called the melting pot for a reason. We're built on new ideas, cultures, and people. We're almost all immigrants here, this is a place people come to for freedom and a new life and I don't think that should change.
In reply to Taylor: I agree with you Taylor, it is very conflicting. I believe we should have access to private records if they have the option to save a life.
This article is about Bernie Sanders' victory in the New Hampshire primary over Hillary Clinton. It stated that he did very well appealing to every demographic group. It also stated that both sides of the election want big change. I agree with both of these statements. First of all, Bernie Sanders has very strong support from young voters and ethnic groups. Hillary Clinton is having a difficult time appealing to a larger and more broad demographic. Even the female demographic hasn't committed itself to Clinton. I agree with the statement that both sides want large change. Both Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders won the primaries and they're from completely different sides of the political spectrum.
This article is written by a member of the House of Representatives, New Jersey Republican Chris Smith. He is the principal author of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000. In the article, Smith argues that the United States is not doing enough to protect children in foreign countries where sex trafficking is thriving from pedophiles traveling abroad. He thinks that we should label the passports of convicted pedophiles and sex offenders to warn the countries of possible incoming perpetrators of one of the most despicable crimes in the world. It is completely unethical to allow these type of people to travel to other countries without any sort of intense supervision. They committed the crime in the United States, and they will commit it again in whatever other country they travel to. The least we can do is warn them. Honestly, there are probably more intense actions that we could take, such as preventing them from going to other countries altogether, limiting their time there, or having someone keep a close eye on them at all times.
I completely agree with Brandon here on how America is not doing enough to help human trafficking. This is continuing to be a problem and having America get involved in other countries social issues may be risky, it could also lead to less human trafficking and children becoming victims.
This article's title, "Economic Stupidity," is largely self-explanatory. The author complains that we aren't hearing enough about the recession in the current debates and campaigns. I completely agree with this. I honestly can't remember the last time one of the candidates talked about the recession, which is strange considering it's such an immense problem right now. While fixing the economy is easier said than done, there are a few things that can be done to improve it. Firstly, we need to tax the wealthy more than the average person. Less than one percent of the population holds a vast majority of the wealth. It's completely absurd to even attempt to argue that they should be taxed the same as everyone else. Secondly, we have to stop spending so much money on things. We can't keep putting out more money than we'll never spend. If we keep doing that, we'll never get out of this recession. Lastly, we need to do a better job of teaching our presidents and candidates for president about the economy. It seems that all too often a president stumbles into office and has no idea what they're doing.
A new Pentagon report concludes that North Korea is committed to developing a long-range, nuclear-armed missile that is capable of posing a direct threat to the United States. The report, required by law, updates Congress regularly on the status of and changes in North Korea's military capabilities. North Korea has always hated America, leaded by Kim Jung Un who has threaten America many time. CIA Director John Brennan referred to Kim's interested in demonstrating his nuclear and intercontinental ballistic missile capacity to the world as " a way to showcase his power".
This article is about how U.S. and Russian military leaders clashed on social media Thursday after Moscow claimed the U.S. struck Aleppo in Syria on Wednesday and the U.S. firmly denied the charge. The U.S. has criticized Russia for backing Syrian government forces around Aleppo, while Russia said Wednesday that two U.S. A-10 fighter planes struck Aleppo. But in my opinion this is just sad. Two powerhouse nations trying to make each other look bad, when they should be trying to come with a solution.
This article is about the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division suing Ferguson. Lawmakers have rejected a plan to examine the city’s racist policing. This shows that they are unreliable and can't be trusted. A report from last spring showed racist and unconstitutional techniques that were said to be a result of the city’s budget reliance on fines and fees. The City Council made some one-sided amendments that the Justice Department did not approve of. I hope that the Justice Department does win against Ferguson and that there is a change.
I also hope there is a change in the city of Ferguson. If to uphold the law you have to use racial targeting than you are upholding the law wrong. I do understand that some races commit more crimes than others, but it should not be the basis for an investigation. Racial targeting should not be relied on to detect crimes or offenders.
This article talks about our economic stupidity. While our economy is not as bad as China's or Brazil's, it is still pretty bad. Then presidential candidates such as Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders want to do things like build a wall and free college for all. Both of these things would greatly hurt any economic recovery we have and would most definitely put us further in debt.
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/10/opinion/10000-child-refugees-are-missing.html?partner=rssnyt&emc=rss&_r=0 This is another update on the European immigration crisis. This time in the new we are hearing that Europe does not know where 10000 refugees children are. Thats a big number of people to just disappear. The saddest part is that they are all children. This problem was bound to happen though. An huge amount of children being dropped of into a foreign country without their guardians are bound to get lost. Like there isn't enough orphanages and group homes to put them in. I just think Europe could have handled this situation better.
http://cnn.it/1oycCyQ This article talk about how Jeb Bush thinks Obama missed a good opportunity to show off his family and set an example for America. I have mixed opinions about this because I don't think that's really the president’s job, but I also feel like having good role models is a really great way to promote success. He has a good marriage and good kids, and showing this to America could encourage people to live happier and more successful lives.
That's a very interesting idea, that the president's family could influence other American families. It makes sense but I suppose it's something citizens don't normally think about. I feel like there were a lot more family photos at the beginning of Obama's presidency. As it progressed he probably got busy, but also probably wanted to respect his daughter's privacy and protect them from possible criticisms at the same time. Another reason why he doesn't show off Mrs. Obama so much is probably because of most of America being mad with her healthy eating restrictions. lol
When it comes to my political ideology, most who know me, especially those in the class from which this blog originates know that I am a bleeding liberal. I go as far to the left politically as you can get, so it isn't a surprise that I am a citizen that wholeheartedly supports Bernie Sanders for POTUS. Many of the stances he takes on the issues that matter, issues that he has fought for throughout his political career, really resonate with me in a large way, as they have with many young people throughout this nation, even some in this government class, Brandon being an example of this. Yet not even this fact is even a surprise, Bernie has been shown to really rally the youth vote in America. Yet with popularity like this, there is some skepticism about the self proclaimed democratic socialist candidate, especially when it comes to his policies which stem from his ideology. Which leads me to this article discussing the policies that Mr. Sanders has proposed. Bernie himself has been a proponent of expansion of socialist programs, like expanding social security, expanding healthcare to a medicare for all system from the current affordable care act. Also, another one of Bernie's big proposals is making college free for all. Now skeptics wonder, where would all this money come from? Mr Sanders says that he would tax wall street regulation to pay for free college for every citizen, and ensure that the top 1% of the nation pays their fair share when it comes to giving back to this nation. Yet there is some argument to be had with these proposals, the funding for them has to come from somewhere, and many are asking themselves, where? Many have stated the facts that many European countries have higher taxes than we in the U.S, and with Sander's programs, such tax increases would need to happen here in order for his programs to succeed in the U.S, and we all know how people feel about tax increases. We want more programs but we don't want to pay for them. That will need to change. We as a nation really need to look into all aspects of the programs of every candidate and really ask ourselves, Is this what we want? Will this help me or hurt me? When we ask those questions, there will be a variety of different answers, all stemming from different visions for this nation. It will be a real interesting sight to see which ideal the public chooses for this nation, and we owe it to ourselves to help in shaping that decision, regardless of our differing political ideologies.
This brief editorial was a very interesting one. While the author was a little biased in the beginning and in the end, it was overall a very fitting article considering our discussion with the president's budget proposals. It is similar to a miniature history lesson on budget proposals by presidents. The requirement of these was actually signed and voted into effect by Republicans! The author feels that it's ridiculous for the current Republicans in congress to not call in the officials for compromise. It might be a bit silly, but I think the author is being too biased here and not thinking of the reasons behind their lack of compromise.
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/12/opinion/a-republican-crime-proposal-that-democrats-should-back.html?ref=opinion I find this article very interesting as I am planning on pursuing a career in Law. This article discusses something that prove that criminals have a guilty mind, “mens rea.” The article gives examples like accidentally taking a bag that is not yours is not a crime if you were unaware of it at the time, or that causing harm alone should not be considered a crime; to be considered as a crime you must knowingly and purposefully commit a crime. Frankly, this might be the only thing I agree on with Republicans. Mens rea should have to be proven in a lot more cases. Democrats do not like the provision because it would weaken the efforts to prosecute corporate executives whose “companies have caused harm.” However, Democrats like Senator Patrick Leahy believe that each problematic statute should be revised individually. I believe that this would help to reduce the amount of charges for petty crimes, or would help people to stop seeing accidents as crimes. Accidents are merely accidents and mens rea proves this!
http://douthat.blogs.nytimes.com/2016/02/12/why-i-wont-learn-to-love-donald-trump/?ref=opinion&_r=0 The debate of whether or not Donald Trump is going to stay in the presidential race or not has everyone talking about it. This article is no exception in that and outlines why Trump may be popular through Republicans and Democrats. Trump is not afraid to say the real facts; what every other candidate is afraid to talk about. Although this may be a good thing, in the end people have to think about if this man is good for our country or not.
This article is about more recent controversial remarks by who other than Donald Trump. Trump referred to fellow candidate Ted Cruz by a slur, and to me this is unacceptable behavior for someone who wants to represent the United States across the world in the most notable position the country has to offer. It's callus and rude and represents every negative stereotype that exists for uneducated americans, and I'm sure it's not appreciated among the leaders of other countries. I would take JFK accidentally saying he is a jelly donut over a president willingly using inappropriately vulgar language any time. I know Trump hates political correctness, but we live in a society where some things aren't allowed for very good reason, especially for someone in a position of extreme power.
http://www.cnn.com/2016/02/12/politics/democratic-debate-takeaways/ In this article, Eric Bradner speaks about the democratic debate highlights. While Bernie and Clinton were having a debate, they exchanged some snarky remarks. Candidate Bernie Sanders, whose unofficial motto is “feel the Bern” really made Hillary Clinton feel the burn that day. When Hillary made a comment about how Bernie Sander’s opinions on Obama were similar to that of a republicans, he retorted back with “One of us ran against Barack Obama. I was not that candidate.” Bradner also makes a comment about how Clinton was pushing for the support of the large demographic of African-Americans in South Carolina by staying towards Obama’s side, and attacking the comments made by Sanders on him. I feel this is wrongly done. Clinton is doing what she thinks will get her more votes, however the majority of people, including the African-American demographic, wanted Obama to touch up on many things. Overall, the Democratic debate was favored to Clinton in the eyes of most people. I believe that Sanders, whose policies seem unrealistic, may help him or harm him if they can be carried out.
“She later clarified — she would oppose such driver’s licenses as president — and then, more recently, decided that she supports them after all.” here Clinton is finding middle ground with her beliefs and with the American ideals of the land of the free with the image portaging the perfect American dream. Obviously immigration is a very tricky subject to talk about.personally as a daughter of immigrants I believe that help should given to immigrants that are fleeing their home countries due to corrupt governments and a better future for themselves and where families. However the world isn't perfect, I love how in the recent debate Bernie pointed out that the 1% is getting richer while Trump is blaming the decrease of jobs towards the Mexicans and the higher level of threat/through to the Muslim...and that isn't true … However as we have discussed in class Bernie's view on issues like free college will probably hit work .
“The fear is that many of the missing children have been trafficked into the sex trade by the same organized criminal groups that are profiting handsomely by ferrying refugees into and across Europe.” I am honestly disgusted by this. Human trafficking is a horrible inhumane subject that deals with forced labor, organ trafficking and sexual purchase. Europe is known for its beautiful cities ranging from Paris to other countries yet there is a horrible thing that happens underneath and a large portion is consumed by Americans, as studies have shown that they are the largest consumers . Obviously giving Europe's system of keeping better of the refugees and potential victims is crucial to solving this problem .
Honestly Trump becomes more and more of a joke every single day. In this article, the author discusses how Trump wants to sue Cruz for not being naturally born but I honestly have no idea how that is relevant to anything. I don't follow Trumps Twitter because I don't think I could handle that level of stupidity on my time line, but this article had screenshots of tweets Trump has made, including one where he was offended that Cruz said he was for gay marriage. One thing that I have to wonder after the last couple months is that is there an actual demographic Trump hasn't discriminated against yet? How does he have any support left? I have never hated a human being more in my life than I hate Trump. He needs to drop out of the race and off of the face of this planet. He would not be a good leader of the US at all and I don't want his name and picture in my children's history textbooks.

ReplyDeleteThis article is about the effects of marijuana on memory and how it damages the brain.
DeleteDamarco, you're completely right.
Deletehttp://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/09/opinion/reaching-across-the-gun-divide-in-new-hampshire.html?ref=opinion
ReplyDeleteThis article is about the gun issue.

ReplyDeleteReply to Curtiss: I also believe that Kasich has a very good background which just isn't hyped up like Trump or Bernie. Kasich is the most reliable candidate in my opinion in this race because he is known to stay true to what he says. Trump and Bernie are just at the top of the pools because of media such as Trump being bitter all the time and Bernie with the younger people with free college.
ReplyDeleteI disagree that Bernie Sanders is getting attention as a result of the media.
DeleteI think a lot of the attention Bernie is getting is from college kids. He's not very popular with a lot of adults, and between #feelthebern , and all the stuff on Twitter, Instagram, and all the other social medias, is the only thing keeping him in the race. The youth is important but isn't important enough to get someone like Bernie to win the election
Deletehttp://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/activist-marshawn-mccarrel-kills-ohio-statehouse-article-1.2525393
ReplyDeleteI had the opportunity to hear Marshawn speak to my class about Ferguson and the Black Lives Matter movement.
DeleteThat is quite the interesting story that you have to tell there Amal.
Deletehttp://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/07/opinion/sunday/give-up-your-data-to-cure-disease.html?_r=0
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about this article.
Deletehttp://www.latimes.com/opinion/topoftheticket/la-na-tt-hillary-losing-young-women-20160210-story.html
ReplyDeleteThis article talks about Hilary Clinton's campaign and the New Hampshire primaries. She lost by a margin of 20%. It also discusses how she had a decent chance to become the first female president after Obama. It says that she lost the young female supporters to Bernie Sanders. These were the female supporters that backed her up when she was competing against Obama when they were running. I feel like it would be pretty cool to have a female president, something new, but it all comes down to what she stands for.
http://www.cnn.com/2016/02/10/opinions/donald-trump-baby-boomer-dantonio/index.html
ReplyDeleteThis article tells about Donald Trump and on how he became a frontrunner in this years presidential election.

ReplyDeleteI think that the Oregon hold out went a little too far. Everyone is entitled to assemble and protest accordinging to the 1st Amendment but it also states that it must be a peaceful protest and the article states one life had already been lost. And that is not peaceful and those people should be put on trial cause the minute that man died there 1st amendment ended.

ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Taylor when I say this but Mexico shouldn't pay for their own blockade wall. And also we really won't get rid of ALL immigrants either. Immigrants will always be around and no we won't ever be able to deport all of them. So trump needs to start promising things that are 1. Legal to do and 2. Actually realistic to do as well.

ReplyDeleteThis article is about how we shouldnt believe that feminists are voting for Hillary just because they are female. the article claims tht she is furious and desperate because she is losing supporters to Bernie Sanders.Honestly, it doesnt surrise me that she is losing them to him. After her stunt that she pulled with Benghazi, she isnt seen as the most trustworthy. Sanders is also offering more for them, or at least making more empty promises that they like to hear and have hope for.
http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/superdelegates-might-not-save-hillary-clinton/\
ReplyDeleteThis article is about the overwhelming majority of support that Hillary Clinton has over Bernie Sanders when it comes to superdelegates for the Democratic nomination.

ReplyDeleteThis article is about Trump wanting to build a wall between America and Mexico.

ReplyDeleteThis article is about Bernie Sanders' victory in the New Hampshire primary over Hillary Clinton.

ReplyDeleteThis article is written by a member of the House of Representatives, New Jersey Republican Chris Smith.
Deletehttp://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/12/opinion/on-economic-stupidity.html?ref=opinion&_r=0
ReplyDeleteThis article's title, "Economic Stupidity," is largely self-explanatory.

The report, required by law, updates Congress regularly on the status of and changes in North Korea's military capabilities. ReplyDeleteThis article is about how U.S. and Russian military leaders clashed on social media Thursday after Moscow claimed the U.S. struck Aleppo in Syria on Wednesday and the U.S. firmly denied the charge. The U.S. has criticized Russia for backing Syrian government forces around Aleppo, while Russia said Wednesday that two U.S. A-10 fighter planes struck Aleppo. But in my opinion this is just sad. Two powerhouse nations trying to make each other look bad, when they should be trying to come with a solution.
http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/02/12/opinion/ferguson-turns-its-back-on-justice.html
ReplyDeleteThis article is about the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division suing Ferguson.

ReplyDeleteThis article talk about how Jeb Bush thinks Obama missed a good opportunity to show off his family and set an example for America.
Obama so much is probably because of most of America being mad with her healthy eating restrictions. lol
Deletehttp://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/12/opinion/livin-bernie-sanderss-danish-dream.html?ref=opinion&_r=0
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to my political ideology, most who know me, especially those in the class from which this blog originates know that I am a bleeding liberal.

ReplyDeleteThis brief editorial was a very interesting one.
It might be a bit silly, but I think the author is being too biased here and not thinking of the reasons behind their lack of compromise.
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/12/opinion/a-republican-crime-proposal-that-democrats-should-back.html?ref=opinion
ReplyDeleteI find this article very interesting as I am planning on pursuing a career in Law.

ReplyDeleteThe debate of whether or not Donald Trump is going to stay in the presidential race or not has everyone talking about it. This article is no exception in that and outlines why Trump may be popular through Republicans and Democrats. Trump is not afraid to say the real facts; what every other candidate is afraid to talk about. Although this may be a good thing, in the end people have to think about if this man is good for our country or not.

ReplyDeleteThis article is about more recent controversial remarks by who other than Donald Trump. I know Trump hates political correctness, but we live in a society where some things aren't allowed for very good reason, especially for someone in a position of extreme power.
http://www.cnn.com/2016/02/12/politics/democratic-debate-takeaways/
ReplyDeleteIn this article, Eric Bradner speaks about the democratic debate highlights.

ReplyDelete“She later clarified — she would oppose such driver’s licenses as president — and then, more recently, decided that she supports them after all.” here Clinton is finding middle ground with her beliefs and with the American ideals of the land of the free with the image portaging the perfect American dream.

ReplyDelete“The fear is that many of the missing children have been trafficked into the sex trade by the same organized criminal groups that are profiting handsomely by ferrying refugees into and across Europe.” I am honestly disgusted by this.

ReplyDeleteHonestly Trump becomes more and more of a joke every single day.
