The NRA has been in a tight spot these past few weeks. With the number of laws allowing people to carry a concealed weapon, that have been created, people are in conflict over what should happen. Although it may seem like a good idea at the time , it could have many future dangers and could lead to more gun violence, which is exactly what we do not need.

    1. I honestly don't think people carrying concealed weapons are a bad thing. I feel that if they are strict with people that carry this weapons, there should be background checks, past history, criminal records, etc. Not just some random person wanting to get a permit to carry a gun and walk around with it. I feel like this will honestly help a bit. Not only for the police, but for people to be able to defend themselves against robberies, theft, and etc. This in a way helps the police from seeing so many murders through out the years.

The new voting law of 2013 does suggest that previous ones may be a little outdated. Some people even want to lower the voting age to include certain ages under 18. Whether this law will actually pass or not is up for debate but still shines light on the fact that the old voting ways just may be that simple. Old.

    1. This isn't a huge surprise, but it is interesting. More things are starting to become popular, or more frequent, bringing about changes in certain law. I definitely expect to see other age requirements drop as well, following this one.. If it does pass. Eventually I definitely think it will be passed

In this article, the author writes about the responses of activist organizations and politicians on Capitol Hill regarding the recent news that January drone strikes killed two hostages in an Al Qaeda compound. This article comes just after President Obama announced the casualties Thursday. Organizations such as the ACLU are using the revelations to make attacks against the U.S.’s use of drone strikes in fighting terrorism. Politicians across party lines have been pretty quiet on the issue. In my opinion, the casualties of these drone strikes are very unfortunate, but the strikes themselves should continue, as they seem to be the best way to fight terrorism without putting American lives directly on the line. It doesn’t surprise me that everyone is quiet on this issue, as I don’t see the next president halting these strikes, regardless of their party affiliation.

  4. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/04/23/loretta-lynch-confirmed-as-attorney-general/
In this article, the author writes that the long wait for Loretta Lynch’s confirmation as attorney general is now over, as the Senate confirmed her in an extremely divided vote Thursday. The controversy over her nomination stemmed from her position regarding President Obama’s executive action on immigration. She said that she believed it to be lawful. Republicans were infuriated by this, and held up her confirmation in the Senate for some time. I am not surprised by this story, and honestly think that the GOP got their message across simply by delaying her confirmation as long as they did. It will be interesting if Republicans have the same amount of friction with Lynch that they had with the previous attorney general Eric Holder. If this story is any indication, the amount of friction may be very similar.

Hillary Clinton hasn't exactly been completely up front with the monetary donations she's been obtaining for her foundation. She's already hit a rough spot, and it'll be interesting to see how she continues to handle it and how she intends to patch up what people already know and dislike.

    1. I think when running for president you should be completely honest about everything you do for your campaign. Being president is such a big deal, and you have to have the people trust you. I think Hillary Clinton is making a bad choice by doing the things she does.

This author in my opinion has way too much faith in Hillary Clinton and her campaign. He thinks that she is one of the strongest candidates and can't imagine any opponent beating her. Although I would like to see Clinton get far in the elections, I do not agree with the author at all. The author claims that Clinton and the Democratic party are well disciplined and immune to all the scandals that have surfaced recently, but I think the public is pretty gullible and will believe everything it hears. They will probably reject Clinton. I just can't see her being that successful. I'm hoping she proves me wrong though.

    1. She is the democrats one chance of winning. No other democratic candidate has the name recognition that clinton has. Republicans control both houses right now. If anything goes wrong then they get blamed. You also have the fact that she could be the first female president and you can expect a strong turn out from women. Yes politicians are mostly scandal proof because we as americans have short memories and deep down most of us don't care

  7. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/22/opinion/obama-and-republicans-agree-on-the-trans-pacific-partnership-unfortunately.html?ref=opinion
This article first caught my eye because it read, "Obama and Republicans agree..." in that order. My immediate thought was: Oh great, problem solved! But as I read into the article, it wasn't so great. The Obama administration and the GOP supporters are pushing to pass the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). It's mainly been kept a secret from the public and Congress doesn't know much about it. Congress can only approve or disapprove it, but can't amend it, which is pretty significant. The TTP would allow environmentally destructive manufacturing plants to keep working, and would diminish food labeling laws, weakening food safety. It would also allow corporations to challenge government regulations and be compensated when they feel unjustly treated. This sounds awful and I really don't understand why the Obama administration would support it.

    1. I also think that its very interesting that congress cant amend this. Food service laws should be kept to very high standards because of how many chains this would effect. Millions of people count on these food safety laws and I agree with you about it being awful. I don't understand why its being supported by anyone, especially the Obama administration.

    2. I agree with both of you guys. I'm had no idea about this act. With everyone talking about food born illness and death you would think they have higher standards. It's a shame this is happening a.d that the public isn't more aware about the situation.

This is about the catastrophe is Yemen, and how the White House has tried to plan out strategies in order to help them. But after they helped figure something out, the military went right back to bombing them. Yemen is already unstable as is, so it's credible to help, but pointless to do if your going to try to bomb them hours later

  9. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/videos/waka-flocka-flame-for-president-day-two-this-is-not-a-joke-20150421
I think it's hilarious awake Flaka Flame is dead set on running for president but it's not impossible. Obama was the first African American president so why not a first rapper for president? Will he get nominated? Probably not but it's a funny idea, but really unrealistic. He wouldn't necessarily have the ethic to work only because he's a rapper, not a politician, it would be difficult to do but more power to him

  10. Flaka Flame has no chance of becoming president. He is not a republican or a democrat so he stands no chance. Part of winning is recognizing that R or D by the candidates name. Without that he doesn't stand a chance. If a nobody decided to run and just got the D by his name there is a good chance that he would get a good portion of the vote. Its not the young who determine an election. Its the old who most of the time have no idea who there voting for. They just vote for the people who drove them to the voting station.

I think this article represents a great perspective for single ladies. Many people face obstacle in their everyday life, but living arrangements shouldn't be one of them. I agree that many people like to be single, but living alone can have its many obstacles. what do you think?

  12. Japan's bloody dolphin hunts have gotten the country's aquariums suspended from the world body that oversees the humane treatment of animals in captivity. That's what Switzerlands World Association of Zoos and Aquariums Japanese affiliate said. These dolphin hunts are conducted in the fall and winter in the port of Taiji. JAZA (Japanese Aquarium and Zoo Association) failed to reach an agreement with WAZA over the hunts. With Japanese conservatives wanting the hunts to stop and even going so far as to opposing the captivity of dolphins in Japan.

  13. Since the Hubble space telescope was launched in 1990, it's faced ridicule and glory. Having been known as the greatest achievement in astronomy since Galileos. The telescope would face several service trips by astronauts till the last one in 2004.The first service trip would be due to a paint problem on the telescope causing the images it took to appear blurred. The technology the telescope would utilize would be derived of spy technology used by the U.S. And with the use of mirrors to collect the images we get a full spectrum view of all the colors the heavens have to offer. Today celebrates its 25th anniversary of being in space since its launch April 24th 1990.

I respect this writer for standing her ground when it comes to embarrassment regarding social media. Clearly her standing her ground and not accepting big checks for silly ads such as tampon commercial's that she would never hear the end of. Her career seems to be very successful and it should show even us teenagers that even though something may seem very tempting you shouldn't post something or make a decision that's "iffy".

This is going to be a very want to see sitaution for a lot of people. This is something that has been going on for years now and for this to pass and become constitutional will stop so much bickering. I honestly think this would be a good thing. Setting religion aside, so many problems regarding the marriage of gays and lesbians have gone through the courts and either died there, or never even thought of proceeding to the supreme court because they simplying dont want to take up a case of that sorts. I would love to see the outcome of this.
