This man has a few very valuable things to say. We basically want a build-a-bear president. We want to take the great traits from previous presidents, not all of their traits, and combine them to create the ultimate leader for the United States. We dont want to accept the president we have in office because we are too busy comparing him to previous leaders.

    1. I agree with your statement Asia. We can't compare current presidents with past presidents because times are changing. Technology is evolving and so is warfare. I believe current presidents have a lot more to deal with than past presidents.

A few good steps in the right direction for the United States. A very rare thing we know. But keeping nucs tucked away or coming to a agreement about them is a great thing. Keeps our country safe along with theirs. Of course everyone is going to have secret nucs out and hidden just in case of the next WW3.

    1. People only want what you try to keep from them. If you tell a country that there not aloud to have nukes then they are going to want nukes even more. Yes I do understand that nukes are extremely dangerous in the wrong hands but the truth is that countries that don't have them or are seeking to have them don't have the stability to support a long term nuclear operation. Even if they wanted to be fired , odds are they wouldn't even mak not off the ground. Lowered my the number of nukes is a lie. What do you do with them. The waste friends m scrapping nukes is extremly dangerous and could be used in making more nukes. Recycling baby.

    2. What is the point in even having nukes when nobody even has the balls to fire one. We are talking about weapons so dangerous that they could lelitterally wipe out the entire planet. Why bother trying to stop or hide them? I'm pretty sure people have enough sense not to s**t where they eat.

    1. This seems like an easy enough problem to fix, but the fact that this is even an issue is troubling to me. With this new information, I'm forced to ask the question, is the motor voter act actually beneficial? It would certainly seem so on paper, but as we learned earlier in the year, the actual number of people who regularly vote in elections has seen little effect from this law. Now that non-citizens are being registered to vote via problems with this law, one could argue that it should see the boot.

    2. I agree with you, Josh. It's difficult to say, but I think the simplest solution would be to just abolish the law. But I wonder how long this has been happening. I see how President Obama's immigration plan has worsened the problem recently, but has this been going on since the Clinton administration? If that is indeed the case and we were to abolish the law now, I wonder how it would affect the Democratic party in elections. I also think, however, that the problem could be limited if we enforced showing proof of citizenship better.

In this article, the author writes about Republican Presidential candidate Ted Cruz “knocking” another Republican Presidential nominee, Rand Paul, on his Senate vote on the NSA surveillance reform. Paul did not vote for the bill that would significantly cut back on some of the NSA’s intelligence gathering of American citizens, saying that it did not do enough to curb the infringement of civil liberties. I agree with Paul that the bill probably did not go far enough considering the magnitude of the NSA’s surveillance programs, but it could hurt him that he did not vote for this bill, especially since it only lost by a couple votes. I’m sure as the campaign season heats up, both candidates’ positions on this issue will become more obvious.

This article is about a white police officer, killing an unarmed black man. The article says "The case underscores two problems, that have become increasingly clear since the civic discord that erupted last year after the police killed black citizens in New York, Cleveland , and Ferguson. The first most pressing problem is that poorly trained and poorly supervised officer often use deadly force unnecessarily and particularly against minority citizens. The second is that the police get away with unjustly maiming or killing people by lying about the circumstances that prompted them to use force." I find this unbelievable and not true. Most shootings turn to be about race instead of the actual problem.

This article makes the United States sound like poop. There are obviously a ton of countries in the world, but those numbers were surprising! "The American Dream" seems more like a myth after reading this article. In general, most Americans seem to think we're "#1" in the biggest and most important areas. We're towards the bottom of the chart on life expectancy, cellphone use, and general quality of life. Yes, we have enough nuclear power to wipe out the globe, and yes, it's important to have security, but is that the MOST important thing to us as a country?

    1. I agree with Taylor. this is just surprising. you talk to immigrants all the time and all they hear about America is land of riches and success. when in reality we're not the big bad wolves we thought we were. we're on the bottom chain actually and we're gradually falling lower and lower. The US focuses more on making enemies then it does making the lives of the citizens. The politicians, these power houses only want one thing, and that's power. What is the US in general willing to sacrifice to better our country's way of life.

The fact that it's so easy to obtain information about a person these days is chilling. I will never understand how someone can be low enough to do things like that for money. The woman involved in the scam even had a number belonging to a "police officer" to fill in gaps in the scam. Technology and Internet are viable resources for almost anything nowadays. The Internet is great, but how can this kind of thing be stopped and prevented?

    1. I think its absolutely crazy that we can get so much information about a person so fast. Scams are dangerous things, that's why we need to watch what we do online. I don't know if this thing can be stopped or prevented. There are always going to be people who are smart enough to get around anything on computers and online

i think its very interesting how two people are getting together to start a movement to give women equal rights. These two females although they are in it for two different reasons, they have decided to leave that behind them and focus on a goal. I sit here and think what our system and life be like if congress and political parties be like if they, although with differences, worked together to do it for the good of the people.

Joe Biden was at a ceremony in the British Embassy in Washington DC and was holding a 15-month-old boy named Jasper, who is the grandson of the former mayor of NYC, Michael Bloomberg. He then took Jasper's pacifier and put it in his own mouth. Although I think this is funny and just Biden being good old Biden, this is pretty gross. I can handle Joe Biden being creepy with women in the background and taking selfies with the president, but this might be a bit over the top. I think Joe Biden is a good match with Barack Obama. Obama is more serious so that and Biden's personalities compliment each other. Go Biden.

    Don't block remittances to Somalia
This article raises one question in my mind and one only. If Somalia is such a bad place why do people live there? If it takes one of your family members moving across the world to get a got to support your familk why would you continue to stay in that place? Furthermore, if Somalia really "establishing a legitimate government recognized by the international community" why don't they do something about the situation there? I'll tell you why because what the extremist present the rest of the Somali's with is oppertunity. For example, they walk up to your door and rather than kidnapping you and making you become let's say a pirate, they ask you "hey buddie would you like to be a pirate? You'll be out of poverty and be able to feed your family." And the crazy thing about it is THEY SAY YES! It absolutely blows my mind that people are so desperate that they would rather take from other people rather than making their own. So why would you want to stay in a place like that? Go somewhere where the water is clean and the air is pure and there isn't the beginning of a civil war going on.

This is again about woman wanting to get a woman on the $20 bill. In my opinion this is a great idea. It'll show everybody that male and females are both equal. It could also show that it's time for equal pay among male and females. There is no female on any sort of currency and I feel like females have had a great contribution to this great nation. So we should have a female on a bill. All the females that are in the running are very good. They all have done a lot for this amazing nation. So I think a female should go on a bill.

  14. Some leading vitamin stores have taken a supplement off their shelves this week. These supplements held a stimulant in them called BMPEA. The chemical has been studied back in the 1930's and was shown to be closely related to amphetamines. In December of last year Canadian health authorities pulled these supplements off the shelves. With the supplement having the chance to cause stroke, and other serious cardiovascular complications. The FDA in 2013 found the BMPEA ingredient found in several weight loss and workout supplements. However they did not name them.

This article informs readers about a recent Isis attack in Iraq. This is the first I've heard of Isis in a while. I don't know if it's because the U.S. Is stopping them or if it's the media is choosing to not report on it. Whatever the case is Isis needs to be stopped.

    1. The media does usually tend to just give us certain pieces of info or sound mites. So I wouldn't be surprised if they stopped talking about them because they've moved on. I agree completely with you ISIS needs to be stopped. They are always threatening more and more things which is bad.

We were just talking about the EPA these past weeks in class. Turns out they are making an amendment to change the freezers in stores and in air conditioners. They found that those chemicals actually harm the environment more than CO2 does which is very drastic. They are set to make an amendment to the clean air act. They have this kind of power since they are a regulatory agency. Although there is a lot of controversies due to the fact that many believe this will cause money to be lost as well as jobs. So what they can do is get congress to use the power they have over the agencies. Powers such as cutting budget and changing laws would affect this. If congress were to change some laws then it would make it harder for the EPA to follow through with this. I guess well just have to wait and see.

This article is about politicians finally fighting for women's rights again! It's been a while since we actually started talking about this subject. There are still some things that aren't correct. This article does a good job at listing them. I think women need to have the opportunity for equal pay. Even up to this day women and men aren't paid equally and that's a major problem. Another thing would be making women confirm to certain things. I hope these politicians actually do something more for women's right.

I think it's disappointing a lot of money will be lost with the decrease in trout and salmon, because with the millions of people spending money on getting their license to fish for these freshwater creatures. Although it's a good thing that these people are given a heads up now so that it doesn't become too late
