This article discusses abortion and womans rights through abortion. It says that Colorado lawmakers are planning to introduce a bill that would criminalize fetal homicide. I think that everyone has a different opinion on this topic which is totally fine but the woman should have a say especially in certain situations such as rape. Abortion would never be the answer in a more normal situation but you never know the complete reasoning on why a woman would choose to make that decision.

    1. I Think women should be able to make their own decisions. I definitely think criminalizing it, isn't gonna stop people. People will do something if the want to do it bad enough. I think its wrong, but in some cases, i understand.

    2. I have mixed opinion when it comes to this. I think it should be a woman's choice, but then again in the back of my mind, I know it's considered a double homocide when a pregnant woman is murdered. And there are circumstances where the child wouldn't be taken care of if they were to be born. Adoption is an option, but then again I believe it should be the woman's choice

    3. I, like Taylor, have a rather mixed opinion on abortion as well. On one hand, I can see how you could call it murder. But is it really murder if the baby has yet to be born? If something has not yet been given the gift of life can you really steal that from them? Could I steal a dollar from you if you have no dollar to steal? I think the answer to that question is obviously no. I think this is a topic better left alone becuase it is so controversial. Taking a stand on a topic like this just seems like a good way to lose support for that which you are fighting for.

ISIS bulldozes its way through the cultural heritage of Iraq and Syria, releasing a new propaganda video showing its fighters destroying Iraq's ancient Assyrian city of Nimrud in March. This group is so disgusting and sad it makes me sick. They ruin everything they can and keep spreading and adding more people to their group. They are going to be very hard to stop but it needs to happen before its to late to take action.

The election is only a short time away and everyone is throwing in their best players. And it seems this year it is all about the persons ideology not a matter of who they are but what side they agree with. Hillary Clinton is going to be at the end of a lot of back lash while trying to win a election after all the issues she has been associated with.

    1. these elections are going to be like the nfl draft. trading, selling, buying, craigslisting, ebaying, you get the point. All to get the best person, candidate, etc. just like what Anastasia said, its all about the ideology. regardless of what they have planned, as long as their ideology matches the parties idea of a good candidate. that's all that it matters.

    2. I totally agree with you Ana! My blog post was about how Hillary announced her view on gay marriage. Soon she'll began to open up more. It's like the media wants their opinions and does not even care about their accomplishments. Also I feel like that's how most people pick the president by their ideology rather than their party.

The loss of these pensions kind of reminds me of the issue of Social Security and whether we will have any by the year 2030. The government has been saying for many years that the easter basket is soon to run out and future generations are paying towards something they will not even be benefiting from.

In this article, the author writes that all three Republican candidates that have recently thrown their hats into the 2016 Presidential race immediately attacked Hillary Clinton after she announced her bid. The author writes that experts believe it is in the candidates’ best interest to criticize Clinton right now, even if they ultimately are running against each other. Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio seem to have embraced this idea, as they all wasted zero time in launching strikes against the former first lady. It’s hard to blame them, as the controversies surrounding Clinton are blood in the water. They would be stupid not to strike while many of Clinton’s flaws are still fresh in the mind of the public.

    1. Yes, this is definitely apparent. But I feel like I'm hearing more of the criticisms of candidates rather than their specific beliefs. Maybe its because the candidates themselves haven't gone into detail, but I could be wrong. I'm interested in seeing how Clinton will do despite all the attacks against her.

In this article, the author writes about the contrast between the two 2016 Presidential campaign announcements that have taken place in the last few days. Hillary Clinton announced her entry into the Presidential race Sunday, where she is an enormous favorite. Few, if any other names have gained traction on the Democratic side of the race. Florida Senator Marco Rubio, a Republican, announced his campaign Monday, hoping to gain exposure by “piggybacking” off of the Clinton announcement. I find it interesting how different the Republican strategy appears this time around from their strategy in 2008. It is ironic that they paint Clinton as “old news,” when it was President Obama’s lack of experience that they harped on when he ran. Regardless of this, campaign season is heating up, and it would certainly appear we are in for quite a show.

In this article, the author agrees that police cams are the best way to limit the abuse of police authority, but he claims that cameras violate privacy. He believes that cop cams insult individual dignity by video taping embarrassing incidents, and will damage society. Like a crazy drunk person on video, for instance. I do not agree with the author. I think it's pretty ridiculous to think that cop cams embarrass people and invade their privacy. I can understand where he's coming from, but not to the extent that he is claiming.

    1. I don't agree with the author. With all the things going on right now it's important that these cameras are available. There was no cop cam for the shooting of Michael Brown, if there was there would be more accuracy in the investigation . For the people who find it embarrassing, don't do something to embarrass yourself.

This article discusses immigration laws again. It talks about how most people support legal immigration but oppose of illegal immigration. I agree with that statement. Everyone's going to have different opinions based on family history, but i think if you are illegally coming to the united states you should be sent back.

  9. Shyrokene, a city between the Russian and Ukrainian militant forces. The city recently has experienced a signing of a ceasefire, which is facing scrutiny due to fighting that keeps breaking out. With land mines and traps set all over the city, the residents have experienced a whole year of war near them. With both sides seeking to gain the city the ceasefire doesn't seem to want to hold. Especially with the innocent being hurt, such as a Russian journalist that stepped on a trip wire and was blown away.

  10. Far too many people are convicted of horrible crimes in which they have not committed. A macabre club of people that have been killed then later found innocent has 152 members. However some people are lucky and are exonerated before they are put to death and even then they serve a life sentence. It is suspected that many more people have had the same fate. In the past year alone there has been nine people freed from a death sentence because of their innocence. It's all too common for cases to be debunked after such a consequence such as death is received, and then prosecuted. It just takes time and consideration for the death penalty to be pursued.

    1. People sit on death row for years. I find it very hard to believe that lawyers kept them there if they weren't sure that he did it. There is something called the due process of law. Until he is found guilty then he is still alive. For someone to be executed that means that they found him guilty. Mistakes will always be made. This is trying to go against the death penalty because there is a chance of them being wrong. Were humans there will always be mistakes.

If you sit and think about all the things people have been able to do over the years, or actually in the last 24 hours, you'll start to really really think about what else could go wrong. All the new technology that's come out, and there are still hacks in systems and there are still security breakthroughs. We have one of the greatest military powers ever, but how do we relax when there are still so many things gone wrong day by day?

I think its so crazy how one event can change the nature of people. I mean there had always been a problem with racial discrimination. the national guard had to be in Ferguson to calm the riots and protest down. one shooting is causing an earthquake of protest throughout not only there though, through out the nation. people are standing up for racial equality. something that we've been fighting since the beginning of our nation. I don't think this will ever end. times change but the reality is that people don't.

The title of this article caught my eye while I was scrolling through the New York Times and it just blew my mind how ill informed the writer of this article must be to publish something like this. Obviously he or she does not realize that PRISON IS THE PLACE THAT WE SEND ALL DTHE PEOPLE FOUND GUILTY OF RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSULT. Duhh! Maybe that's why people get raped in prison. I don't have a problem with it. If you don't want to get raped here's an idea for you... DON'T DO SOMETHING TO GET THROWN IN PRISON. Problem solved. And if soooooo many people get raped in prison why do we have so many repeat offenders? According to these probably skewed statistics many of these people that are repeat offenders have been raped or sexually assulted. If you are stupid enough to want to do something that will get you thrown back in the same situation from which you came... YOU DESERVE IT!

It's safe to say Congress has a lot of control when it comes to the presidents final decisions because after all it has to go through with both houses before finalized. I'm disappointed that Congress didn't allow for Obamas nuclear weapon program go through.

This is about Hillary's running for president. Hillary definitely is a Democratic loyalist and carries many of President Obamas ideologies. I think she may have a difficult time straying away from the Obama administration and her recent Bout with the news. Winning this election would make ground breaking history, the first female president.

    1. Hillary clintion may be the democrats one chance of getting a president this term. With a republican house and senate a republican president could easily take the win. however Hillary is a household name and if she ran she would likely win. Not only would she have the democrats desperately trying to get her in office you would have women come out it record numbers. When obama was elected blacks came out in record numbers. It will not surprise me if women came out in record numbers for this election as well. For the first time we will have a first man.

I'm not surprised Hilary is running for president. She's attempted before and she will attempt again. She has a lot of the same views as Obama so I assume many people that have stayed by the presidents side will follow along Hilary's campaign. She has been very much involved in healthcare so as we have seen it has worked out before for Obama and a lot of Americans are interested in that because it affects people.

This is interesting. As Mrs. Clinton announced her running for the presidency she has begun to open up more and more on "her views". I put her views in " " marks because in the article it said that in 2013 she was opposing gay marriage, but now that she is running she now supports. Although I do believe her she may have realized that it is just fair. But I feel like she may try and use her views to get people to support her. I think it's nice she supports gay marriage.
