Well then... This seems to be a awkward situation for the employee who was flying the drone. Im curious to know whether he was lying or not when it came to the if he meant to fly it over there or not. And does it bring any suspicions to security or to the president himself when it comes to who should have access to the drones.
You'd think that they would be at least somewhat prepared for something like this. Drones might be new on the consumer market but they've been available for a long time. The kid from home alone 3 even managed to fashion a ground based one out of an rc car and a video camera. Lazy lazy Whitehouse. I doubt you actually read these. Reply to this one and prove me wrong.
I think torture is justifiable at times, just like a couple people agreed in the article. But of course, there are always people who misuse justifiable things. Just because there's a reason doesn't make it okay, which we have been reminded since we were born. It's a huge issue and if I were to vote on some thing like that, I wouldn't vote to have it abolished. There are ways it is useful, such as getting information from a person who might be holding hostages, or maybe had placed a bomb. Pencils and pens have been used wrongfully but they haven't outlawed those yet. I don't think it should be outlawed, but there should be legislation on times and places for things as such like torture.
I don't believe they overreacted at all. Maybe it wasn't NECESSARY but it doesn't mean it wasn't "okay" to over prepare. They're used to getting tons of smow every winter and they know and they understand what it's like and understand the precautions. They were simply too ready.. And I don't believe that's something to criticize
I would have to say that over preparing is better than having someone die just like Gov Andrew said. It would be like going on vacation and not packing enough outfits and regretting it because everything is dirty, except worse. Although it may have costed millions of dollars, it is better that they closed down public transportations for safety reasons.
i find it kind of crazy to think that we still technically have a cold war going on between Russia and the US. I mean they have a little more of a grudge on us then we do them. but its still crazy to think that we're going at it after 50+ years. I mean ive seen the americans, and all those weird Russia secret spy movies but I never really thought they would still be active and working and trying to get info out of the government.
this is very befuddling to me. just in the sense that ISIS may have disappeared a bit on the US side but now is showing up in multiple other nations and threatening them. in this case japan. I mean japan just now got put into a wwe king of the ring type situation between the US( allies) and ISIS (not allies). Its a very tough choice because with our hostage policy is to never negotiate with terrorist.
Forgot about negotiations! Forget about ISIS. The only way to solve this problem is to send troops over there and take them out. However, guess who doesn't have the budget for another war? we can't afford to keep getting involved in everyone else's problems. Let's worry about ourselves first.
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/28/opinion/a-new-chapter-for-america-and-india.html?ref=opinion&_r=0\ In this article, the author writes about President Obama’s recent trip to India to help further the relationship between India and the United States. President Obama sat down with the Indian President Narendra Modi to discuss multiple things, but most notably, their countries’ relationship with China. Both countries are affected by the rise in military and economic power of China, so the two leaders sought to work together to combat this. I do not have a strong opinion about this story, but I do believe it is in the best interest of the United States to attempt to stay ahead of other world powers such as China.
This is not surprising that president Obama is already trying to make friends. India does have one of the largest populations in the world and it does make sense to stay ahead of China. But I don't belive everyone should make a big deal out of this. It was probably just a friendly meeting between two countries.
I agree that it is the best interest of the United states. Also, I agree that its not very surprising for Obama to already be trying to make friends. I'm glad they're working together. I would like to keep in touch in the story and see where this goes.
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/28/opinion/continued-assaults-on-health-reform.html?ref=opinion In this article, the author complains about Republican attempts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act by picking it apart with bill after bill. Specifically, the author writes about a bill that passed through the House that would undercut the “employer mandate” part of health care act. The author repeatedly slams the Republican party, all but calling them ignorant for their attacks on Obamacare. In my opinion, this whole situation is to be expected now that Republicans have control of both chambers of Congress. It isn’t hard to find the bias in this article, as the writer spends no time talking about the countless issues Republicans have with the Affordable Care Act. It is a simple case of a division in political ideology. Unfortunately for the author, the Republicans are likely to get their way simply due to their control of Congress.
Obama care will soon be dead. The republicans control both houses and have even have some democratic votes. It is likely that we also have a republican president. When that happens we won't need to worry about the veto. If the president would just accept that obama care is going then congress could move on. The working class don't want government healthcare and the republicans see that. Obama need to accept the facts.
Joe Biden: A Plan for Central Americahttp://mobile.nytimes.com/2015/01/30/opinion/joe-biden-a-plan-for-central-america.html?_r=0 This article was about how Obama will request $1 billion from congress to help out Central America. While I think that it is a good idea to try to help out your fellow North Americans I do not believe that we are in any position to do so. We are trillions of dollars in debt and he wants to write a billion dollar check to save another coutry. That is insane. But what the big deal. You can always just print more money right?
At this point does it really matter. That billion dollars could really help another country and we have a 2 billion surplus ever day. That money could save lives and help stabilize a country. The world needs more good will actions like this. in the end days when we look back we don't want to see that because times were hard that we just rejected to help someone. The U.S. has never not helped someone who asked for it so why would we start now.
Mr. McDonald sued the VA because of the way they weren't doing their job. They do provide hospitals t help veterans, but never provided housing for the homeless veterans. Now they have opened a housing place for them (One of soon many) which put them in the step towards housing all homeless Veterans. This reaches a personal level for me because both of my brothers and my dad are veterans and had anything gone wrong to where they were homeless and we couldn't support them, it's nice to know that the country is doing some good for the ones that give their lives to help our country. Although the fact that it took it as far as the VA to have to be sued in order to do their job is wrong.

This would have been Romney's third time running for president. He said he wsnted to give other republicans a chance to represent the party. He also said that he would've won if he ran. This opens up the door for Jeb Bush. He is one of the more popular Candidates who have claimed to be running for the republican nominiation.
I think this is kind of funny, because I've seen other political cartoons making fun of him running so many times. I think he really just gave up and had to come up with an excuse. But I could wrong. I also think however, that it's important who runs for the Republican nomination because it's pretty safe to say that our next president will be a Republican.
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/30/opinion/washington-and-havana-break-the-ice.html?ref=opinion&_r=0 For the first time in over a half-century, Cuban and American officials met this past week to discuss normalizing relations. But this is just the first step of a long process. Some people in Cuba, after being indoctrinated for so long to be untrusting of the American government, are still a little suspicious and resentful of restoring relations. But, the officials say the gathering was professional and respectful. I personally think this is really cool. I think it was a good idea to restore relations, it was about time.
This article talks about seeking to dismantle the affordable care act piece by piece. personally, I do not agree with this. the article states "placed a high priority on repealing a tax on medical devices that would raise some $29 billion over the next 10 years to help ensure that health reform will not increase the deficit. " and honestly I don't think that this fair. It's causing the loss of jobs, and has reduced spending on research and I don't think anyone should be allowed to do that.
For years Cubans have had it really easy as far as getting to stay in the US unlike other illegal immigrants. I agree with the author on his assertions that this is not fair. While this was a good idea back in the cold war times now that we're on better terms with Cuba this policy needs to go. It's unfair to others who wish to come to this country.
http://www.cnn.com/2015/01/30/middleeast/isis-attack/index.html I think ISIS has no limit to be honest. Truly I dont understand what they are after. Here they are going for Kirkuk an oil rich city. So this seems like they more than likely are going after money. But I dont understand why they have to do it in such a violent way. It killed three the article says. But I feel as if Isis needs to be stopped becuase as long as they still exist the that possibky the more lives that are in danger. So should we aid those foerign countrys? I think we should to an extent. They have also threatened us so it basically would just be defending ourselves. I guess its just would be in our best interest to defeat them as soon as posible.

This has occured to him after the gruesome attcks in France and the attcks that happened in October that killed two Canadian sodliers. Some of the things the bill sugests will happen are a bit drastic, although it is for he safty of the people. Honestly any common civilian wont be effected by it. Only those that are threatening to cause trouble will be affected. They can arrest soemone for up to a week with only saying that they may commit a terrist attack.
