  1. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2014/05/12/boehner-wont-commit-to-serving-out-another-full-term-as-speaker/?hpt=po_c2 This article discusses how House Speaker John Boehner might not serve another term. He has been accused of illegal status of undocumented workers and hasn't pushed for immigration reform. He is sixty-five and ready to enjoy the rest of his life. It is sad if he chooses to leave though. What a Boehner killer. (JKJK)

    1. I think that Boehner does not want to deal with the potential of other accusations being thrown at him, so he is possibly calling it quits. He is considered an elderly now so why not enjoy the old life? The accusations seem pretty harsh, but he has not been convicted so it is hard to tell whether or not he is a "bad guy".

    2. AManda this is a major Boehner killer! I think that hes just so tired with everything going on and he wants out. Its like when you look at a president when he entered office and when he leaves office, how much he has aged. Im not sure if i would want to be in politics because it pretty much kills people with the amount of work they have.

    3. I think that the Speaker should not quit due to this accusation. It may turn out to be nothing more than politically motivated accusations by his opponents who have nothing real to go on. If it does turn out to be true, then he should have to face that while he is still in ofice. By quitting now it seems as if he has something to hide and does not want to face it while in a public view. If something happens or not while in office, deal with it in office.

      Delete
    4. Its easy to see where he would just like to see the rest of his life in peace as he is getting older in age not any younger, yet I also agree with Sasha that Boehner should not leave office on the note of an accusation.

    5. If he does decide to step down doesn't he get his retirement wages? I don't find this story very hard to believe. He is a public official and i am sure he doesn't cook his own meals or cut his own grass, he has workers that do this for him and sometimes people don't have time to get a background check on people they have employed to do miscellaneous work but he is a hypocrite.

    6. These kind of things really make me hate politicians. He is threatening to step down and retire just due to the accusations, meaning they are probably true due to him avoiding the question. Instead, he should own up to it and push past it. He should do what is best for the government.

    7. It's kind-of sad that Speaker Boehner feels that he has been pressured into stepping down from his position because of accusations against him. He is right though, he's 65 years old, and politics can wear and tear a person down after a while. Maybe he's just ready to get out of the politics game and enjoy the rest of his life in relaxation.

So I stumbled upon this video on Sarah Palin's PAC website. Why I was on it I cannot tell you, I must be going insane. BUT the video is funny. It points out all of the decisions that the president is making that Fox News has been accused of and has expressed it in a funny, blunt way. Cavuto discusses the different issues in a very monotone way. Almost like when you go to Chick-Fil-A and the workers have to say certain things that end up sounding not so nice due to their tone of voice. Now that I am off topic and starving, just go watch the video. It was a pleasure.

    1. By pointing out all of the things the president did, Fox News is also spotlighting what they have done wrong. This was not a wise decision on their part because now everyone knows that they are hypocrites. I think that Fox News just want the heat on someone else for the same mistakes, but it backfired.

    3. I also never would vote for Sarah Palin. The people have the right to know what decisions the president is currently making but at the same time it makes it seem like as Emily said- hypocrites. I am seriously glad that Sarah did not win the Election.

  3. http://onpolitics.usatoday.com/2014/05/12/marco-rubio-climate-change-human-activity/ Senator Rubio doesn't believe climate change is caused by humans. Well then. Go outside. How did you get to your job? Oh, a car. And it lets off CO, CO2, and many other gases into the atmosphere. The top scientists did research on this topic showing the difference in climate over the past fifty years and yes. It is changing. We are all entitled to our opinions and beliefs, so I guess I shouldn't point out anymore obvious facts.

    2. There are a lot of different views on what exactly is causing global warming. It seems hard to deny that mankind is at least partially responsible for this cycle. There have been other global warming and cooling in the past but the speed of this one points directly to our use of the environment. Even if some people do not believe we are the cause, that does not mean that we should not be trying to fix the problem anyway. It remains a problem to be worked on regardless of how we got here.

      Delete
    3. It is kinda obvious that we are the reason for a lot of the global warming in the world which is rather sad. We do things for our convenience and barely ever think about the consequence of what we are doing and how it will affect future generations.

      Delete
    4. I do agree that the climate is changing and it is very noticeable especially these past few days. Humans are the blame for the climate change but there so much we as humans can do. Yes, we drive our cars to work which sends out CO2 in the atmosphere but we need our cars to travel. we can drive smart cars but those are expensive.

      Delete
    5. I agree with all of you. Humans do things 24/7 that impact global warming they just dont think about it. i agree with the climate change as well. There are a lot of reasons for global warming. I wouldnt say its all our fault but we can atleast do something about it.

      Delete
    6. Is he honestly serious? Global climate change has been linked to the day-to-day activities of mankind on multiple occasions. Science has proved that our emissions have caused an influx of Ozone destroying gases in our atmosphere, leading to an increase in the average temperature of the planet. If the man has any hopes of running for president, he should lose that attitude quickly, or he'll find a very difficult time getting the majority of the country's votes.

They said his second term has been a horrible start. President Obama does not have his hold in foreign affairs and is only thinking small ball. I personally think that he just has no idea what to do since all of his past mistakes are catching up with his current presidency. He has no idea what he is doing and his competence level is low when it comes to what to do now.

    1. I do think that president Obama is playing catch up from Bush's presidency and his last term. This is costing him time now that he could be using to improve but he's back peddling to fix things that will take a while or are unsolvable within his years in office. I think he needs to think ahead and that means looking at the past mistakes and learning from them

      Delete
    2. I don't think he is already beginning to act like a lame duck president. 33 months is a long time for anyone to have Senioritis. I agree that he seems like he does not know how to handle a crisis of this complexity. He needed to surround himself with talented people instead of just those he owes political favors to.

      Delete
    3. I agree with that he is probably becoming a lame duck. I think this is mostly due to his terrible job working out his Affordable Healthcare Act. People have mostly reflected on this negatively and past mistakes have been building up. With all of this, Barack has just been trying to patch little holes in a boat that's already been sunk.

Another American citizen shot the two terrorists when they entered the barbershop. They say that the two US Embassy personnel were actually violating security protocol and were not supposed to leave their security areas. I think that the two Us Embassy officials have learned their lesson when it comes to doing as they are told. If that American citizen had not been there, they would have been at the mercy of the Al Qaeda.

    1. i am sure that this will be a lesson for all of our Embassies. Doing simple, everyday things may not be so simple depending on where you live. They were very lucky that they were not kidnapped or killed since they violated the security rules there. Sometimes security rules can seem overly restrictive but most have been developed to keep people safe in dangerous situations.

Nothing entirely serious, just nice to know. In this article Bill Clinton lets us all know what's new with Hillary. Pretty sweet. Thanks, Bill. I have a fajita right now. It's pretty informative though. Pretty nice to know what's up, though.

    1. Let me begin by saying that this is an excellent example of spin, Karl Rove was the guy who even set the current agenda about Hillary and may I say that it is absolute BS, no matter what side is doing it. The first thing that comes to mind was when Reagan was criticized on his ability to run a country due to his old age, but obviously nothing bad resulted of his age or health standings. No matter what side does it, it's stupid, wrong and a cheap shot to say the least.

    2. Plus, this guy didn't even have the facts right to begin with! There is a huge difference between a 30 day hospital stay and one. Plus, he went on Fox News and then may I say "unpologized" for it. Now that I've said all of that, I've noticed that I've actually learned so much about why politics are played the way they are and it's subconsciously infecting my brain. Why can't everyone be informed on politics? Also unless you have any legitimate seasoning I doubt your fajita was really that great. I'm a pro at Mexican food, but I'm sure you're already informed on that. I bet you're wishing you could've experienced my fajita experience instead of what sad excuse for a fajita you probably had. It is great to see the rest of the country catching up with basic civil rights. The 21st century sure is nifty. I recall hearing recently on the news that Ohio is also seeing laws about same-sex marriage right now, which is pretty sweet. It is cool that the supreme court has made it so easy for states to kick marital rights into effect.

    1. There are people who are trying to legalize gay marriage in Ohio, which great but there is another story that people are trying to petition for Ohio not to recognize gay marriage that was legalized in another state. so there are two side of the coin. Some people want it to be legalized and some don't want anything to do with it. But in my opinion i dont think Ohio will see legally married gay couples for a while

    2. I think same sex marriage should be legal. Who cares if you wanna be gay, then be gay. Do what makes you happy. I'm glad that there is a petition for it

    3. I am glad that Arkansas has struck down these laws. Same-sex marriage has been spreading, especially in the legislative system. We do not have the right to impose on people that want to marry other people of their own sex and the legislative system is seeing this. I can't wait to see more on this topic.

    1. This is put in a great way. Also i can see why the Crimean people do not want to go with the newer Russian laws. As you put it, they were forced into this regime and this should not mean that they would have to go with the new rules that Russia has made, they were not in this regime by choice.

      Delete
    2. Exactly, Russia annexed them and are forcing these new rules on them. You can't just take a mass of people, throw new rules at them, and expect them to follow along peacefully. There is going to have to be a compromise on Russia's side and they are going to have to like it. I can see the problems with existing rights from the previous controller and how residents would not like having these rights taken from them.

This here is the good stuff. As a current taco bell employee, i have faced adversity in the work place especially from the fat cats that own Taco Bell. Us working class fast food employees need much more money than minimum wage to survive in this horribly impoverished environment. What am I expected, to pay for school, a car, medical bills, food, shelter, and some form of luxury on 2 minimum wage jobs? Thats impossible, and thats real talk yo.

    ReplyDelete

    1. That is the truth, and its horrible. How can ANYONE survive on such little money and afford just the common cost of living? You can't. They need to find a way to raise the value of the dollar so that such simple necessities are available.

      Delete
    2. I agree with this completely. Minimum wage was designed to keep people away from the poverty line but I'd say that that ain't cuttin' it. I'd say we've really screwed the pooch on wages since the recession of the 1970s and that's really why we rely on a two-wage household. I really hope for a minimum wage increase, forreal.

      Delete
    3. I agree with bree. no one can make it such little money. Its really hard. I think they should raise the minimum wage a little bit. I would be happy if they did

    4. I mean however will you pay off your luxury 90's camry david. anyways this is true too anyone trying to live or provide off of minimum wage. Basic needs can't be met with that pay especially if they have children. Minimum wage is good if you don't have to meet any kind payments.

      Delete
    5. But then you have to think, if they would raise minimum wage, that makes everything else go up. So therefore, they are helping the minimum wage workers for just a second then it all goes up and they are back to where they started.

After the botched death in Oklahoma some time ago an inmate on death row in Texas is going to the appeals court to postpone his execution until he learns that what they use to kill him will kill him quickly and painlessly unlike the botched sentance. As I've stated before, in a society with the death penalty, I would require that the death come painlessly to the accused and I believe he has the same notion to do so.

    1. There are two very interesting sides to the death penalty, I'd say. A con to the death penalty is that it costs more than just keeping an inmate in prison for life (google it, it's true), which would be a way to really cut government spending, not to mention we're one of the few first world countries who even do that sort of thing anymore but... I suppose one could weigh that families of murderers want some sort of justice and closure that death could bring. I personally have grown to have the idea in my mind (since really looking into serial killers/murderers and how some have made a turn around) that there are people who can be changed. Idk, this is usually where my mind goes with the death penalty.

This article is about a federal judge in Oregon striking down a voter approved ban on gay marriage. This ban was passed in 2004 as an amendment to their constitution, defining a marriage as between one man and one woman. Judge McShane based his ruling the Equal Protection Clause and on the idea that gender and sexuality should past to only see love. This is just one more important step forward to nationalizing equal rights in marriage. Yes there are still plenty of states that have not passed gay marriage laws and a lot of people still fighting it but change is coming. People are always going to feel same sex marriage is wrong but its not going to matter much longer when all states say otherwise.

He admitted to using the N word when talking about the president but refused to apologize for it even after Romney. He sat, arms crossed, at a town meeting where nearly every person who spoke wanted his apology and resignation. He is one of 3 people responsible for hiring, firing, disciplining, and setting salaries for officers. Therefore he should not be allowed to hold his position when he has such bias with race. He did end up resigning eventually without father statement.

    1. This man is obviously acting childish since he is described as sitting with his arms crossed. It is a little ridiculous. The officer should have known better, as well, for while we are all allowed to have our own opinions, some not very kind or politically correct, we are still restricted to where we say the things we think, and who they are about. The officer should be removed, for he is responsible for many important things, hwoever, his immature attitude shows that he should not be in those positions. I am happy he resigned, and I wish that he would have apologized. Our society very rarely apologizes for anything, even though we are taught as young children that we should apologize if we ever do something that upsets someone else. Obviously that is something that we should all be taught again. I think it was wise for him to resign, for if not, I imagine it would have been a nasty removal.

    2. Good, he should have left his job. Its just wrong to say racial slurs. But even worse since he did say it and he didn't say sorry to the President or anyone else, just shows how immature he is. He is a grown man and had the nerve to say that and then not say sorry. Thats wrong.
